    Error 11023

    I've tried reinstalling this game and used numerous other methods I've found on google search and there seems to be no way to get through this "version check" through the server. I have all the patches manually downloaded, but they're no use when I can't get past this version check failure.

    Beako,

    We apologize for the problems you are experiencing with FINAL FANTASY XIV. Below we have provided a number of troubleshooting steps that you can try to resolve your issues. We hope they are of assistance.

    * Terminate other applications
    Attempt to update after closing all running applications,including browsers, security software, etc.

    * Windows user privileges
    Log in under an account with Windows administrator privileges and attempt to update the program.

    * HDD space insufficient
    To play Final Fantasy XIV, you must have the amount of free space listed below.
    The installation destination must have at least 15 GB of free space.
    The My Documents folder must have at least 6 GB of free space.
    The Temp folder (C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxx\LocalSettings\Temp) must have at least 1 GB of free space.

    If the format of My Documents is FAT32, the installation will not be able to proceed as normal.

    * Change the location of where FINAL FANTASY XIV is stored
    We have confirmed an issue where if a player installs the FINAL FANTASY XIV client after directly assigning the root directory of a drive as the target location for the "My Documents" folder, the initial version update process will fail.

    If you have experienced this issue, please change the location where the files are stored in the "My Documents" folder to perform the version update as normal. If you wish to change the target location of your "My Documents" folder, please follow the steps listed below.

    Example:
    E:\ = Version Update fails
    E:\Home = Version Update does not fail

    How to perform the change on Windows XP
    1. "Start" → right click the "My Documents" folder.
    2. Select "Properties."
    3. Select the "Target" tab.
    4. Change the "Target folder location" and select the "OK" button.

    * Please be advised that the "My Documents"folder will not appear during step 1 if you are viewing the Start menu in the"Classic Start menu" style. Please follow the steps listed above after changing the settings to "Start menu" style.

    How to perform the change on Windows Vista
    1. "Start" → user name → right click the "Documents" folder.
    2. Select "Properties."
    3. Select the "Location" tab.
    4. Enter a path and select the "OK" button.

    * Please be advised that the user name will not appear during step 1 if you are viewing the Start menu in the "Classic Start menu" mode. Please follow the steps listed above after changing the settings to "Start menu" style.

    How to perform the change on Windows 7
