Final Fantasy XIV Config wont boot

Since installation whenever attempting to boot Final Fantasy XIV Config instantly an error message comes up in another language with only two options to close out of the error window or press a button on the window. Both actions lead to the config program to shut down immediately. I have searched on forums and in FAQ's so a solution but have no found one yet that works. It happens on every attempt to open the program and I'd really like to be able to make this beautiful game full screen. I am running on a home built computer running windows 7 64bit. my video card is a ATI Radeon HD 5800 1024MB GDDR5. My internet connection is through Time Warner Cable I have their turbo cable internet. Also I would like to mention that the copy of Final Fantasy XIV I own is the collector's edition, I know a friend who bought the collector's edition and is having the same issue. I just had that after reinstalling and moving it to my SSD (I do have the collectors eddition but I doubt the disc is at all different to the normal one), After I updated the game files it worked fine, so it could be a bad install? other then that Have you tried
- A different user account,
- Running with full permissions (taking them if needed in properties?)
- Screenshot the text and googled it? (someone here might be able to help if you cant type it up)

Not much i can think of beyond that other then reinstalling but I would guess you've tried that.

well it randomly fixed itself after I posted this, I was able (for the first time) actually access the config screen, changed the language and got my setting fixed. I guess the universe just likes to oil the squeaky wheel XD If it does occur again I'll be able to read the error this time and I'll be sure to post it if it happens again. but it looks like I lucked out, I can only hope my friend has as much luck with her game
