Sudden FPS Issues

The game had been running perfectly fine on high settings. Constant 60+ FPS with no stuttering or dips at all. Today it has been AWFUL. I can't seem to fix it. Any tips?

Same issue. Consistently above 60 fps and silky smooth until the emergency patch done 14 July. Now my FPS is all over the place, from the teens up to 100.

Update: It seemed to fix itself after 24 hours and was fine for days. Perfectly smooth. But after WAY too many driver crashes in dungeons and trials, I changed to another driver. Now the FPS issue is back. I'm on Nvidia 344.48 right now

CPU: Phenom II X4 965 3.4

Until very recently there were 0 issues with completely smooth gameplay. Temperatures were fine. Usage was fine.

Do an update of your NVidia drivers, they've been optimized for FFXIV DX11 since since the 347.52 WHQL

So try the new drivers and tell us if they are any problem

I'm on 347.25 right now and the issues still persist. I'll try the 347.52 drivers and update.

Just another tid-bit of information: At times, the FPS will be a smooth, stable 60 FPS. Then I will look towards the center of the zone and the FPS will become very unstable. I never had this problem in a month of playtime until very recently.

Also, I've been on DX9

I used to run a GTX 660- couldnt handle DX11 on high settings, so I upgraded.

However, on DX9, I found that turning off screen space ambient occlusion helped a lot

I don't want to jinx it. But it seems like the 347.52 drivers are working. It's running at a smooth 60 once again on DX9. I hope it stays that way. Thanks, guys.
