    Turning DRK into a tank was a huge mistake.

    It was a major oversight by a development team to make a traditional DPS class as a tank. We have all seen these warning topics but now it's time to see the real results of this decision. Because people who waited and wanted it as a DPS role are playing it as such regardless of what SE thinks about the job now.
    I heal DRKs every day and they are by far the most squishiest tanks I've ever seen. Why, most of them put all attribute points in Strength, use full set of Strength accessories and never use any defensive cooldowns. Often their HP drops low faster than I can heal through damage and they never help we with Living Dead and such to catch up, neglecting their tank and damage mitigation responsobilities. I have to babysit them every second or they will die, leaving me no time to help with DPS as is the case with properly geared and played tanks.

    If you judge all jobs by the people that are bad at them, then they are all mistakes.

    We wouldn't have gotten DRK at all in HW if it was supposed to be a DPS.
    We were getting 1 healer, 1 tank, 1 dps... for the dps, a gun job was far more requested than another melee dps. Meaning no room for a DRK as dps.

    Bad players does not mean SE's decision to make DRK a tank was bad.

    I would have liked to see DRK as a dps job, but it isnt. I think the DRK can tank just fine, but the examples you list. Ive seen them and know full well what you're talking about, however its one ive also seen with other classes in the game. Warriors come to mind, many wanted them to be pure dps weilding a giant axe smashing face. Much like you list you want to help dps, you want to help the group anyway you can. Well there are "healers" that only want to dps, just like there are "tanks" that only want to dps. So i think the issue might be that some ppl arent like you and they dont share your consideration for helping out anyway possible.

    Blame the people who don't look at what their roles are. It's like saying Square made a mistake making the Ninja a DPS instead of a tank because of how FF11 had it.

    I've seen healers that DPS too much and let the tank die, should I make a thread about that and call all Healers bad and that they arn't playing their roll as they should?

    As a dark knight myself, I get really frustrated when I see other drks using full strength accessories in low level dungeons (and when asked to switch to vit accessories so I can heal them efficiently if I'm healing, they tell me to gtfo and learn how to heal). Hello, silly people, you're supposed to be a tank. You SHOULD have two sets of accessories, strength for easy solo stuff/unsynced dungeons, and vit to help out your healers, especially in low level dungeons. Seems like I'm only one of the few tanks who actually knows this...

    Îm playing as Dark Knight o_o In dungeons; - wearring accessories for more HP and using all skills so I get lower damage to make it easyer for the healer o;

    I saw some Dark Knights not using Darkside >.> (Important defensive skills need Darkside like: parry buff(so we can Stun-kick and weaken enemy more often), AoE Atk-Blind, AoE HP Atk-Siphon.

    I had a dark knight not using living dead when every1 on the party was K.O. and boss had only 1%HP left <.,<

    VIT doesn't really help out your healers. The mobs dying faster does. Especially in low level dungeons, I would rather one mob die faster then my tank having a slightly bigger HP pool. Then again, I am rather vigilant as a healer. I don't sit and wait until they are almost dead.

    Honestly, I think it is better for them in the end.

    They should learn to wipe and learn to be on edge with healing rather then becoming lazy.

    I keep 2 sets of accessories with me. 1 Vit/Str mixed set for just enough HP, and 1 full STR set. Both have their own gear set.

    I swap to the Vit/Str mix for trash pulls that I know are going to be a problem for the healer (Any unpredictable spike damage is always a problem, and that's exactly what trash can do, especially if there is a lot of it)

    And then before every boss, I throw on my STR gear set, initialize threat, drop Grit, and go full on on damage for as long as my TP lasts. It's easier IMO to heal predictable damage from bosses unlike potential spike damage from mobs all bashing on you at once. And ontop of this, my CD's are in rotation when they need to be.
