Actually, it's the other way round...if you go in Duty Finder, you have to accept every random player it gives you. That's the basic of "random groups".
If you want something specific, create your group with your expectation.

That's just weird and that is also news to me. I've never known anyone who complained that people were displeased because they didn't check a dungeon guide. However, when it comes to 8 or 24 man content I really have to ask: WHat is your excuse for not watching a video? Those fights can be very tough and the video guides are usually only a couple of minutes long. A person who can't go check before hand is either ignorant that they exist and that's fine (now the know), or just lazy. The laziness however, is not okay. If you think A4 is simply a dungeon, I would like to alert you at this moment that you are grossly mistaken.
Played WoW since the beginning. Pretty much since it began I was "required" to watch videos for the raids since Burning Crusade launched (second expansion for those who don't know).FFXIV was the first MMORPG where i saw things like this:
- Did you watch Youtube videos before entering the dungeon
- Did you watch the guides before entering the dungeon
If you response, no i did not? Then you are noob and bad player.
This is strange community. Dungeons are supposed to be learned by playing them, wiping, learning by mistake, improving etc... And not how some elitists want that people should watch some videos lol.
This was in Ultimate Ballad. Easily learned after couple of wipes.
I never had to do that with WoW back in tbc days tbh.
We always made our strategies on our own. Was pretty interesting in the guild forum with all the brainstorming how to get over mechanics/issues.

It's rather entitled of you to expect that they are obligated to teach you the fight, frankly. They don't have to play teacher if they don't want to. It's nice if they do, but they are doing nothing wrong if they don't.
I do agree with this to a degree.
I fail to see the point of going into a duty and asking for mechanics to be explained. If you aren't going to do it blind, why go in and make people waste their time explaining when you could have watched a video without wasting anyone's time? If you want to go in blind, don't ask for mechanics. If you want an explanation, watch a video. Making people explain to you is pretty annoying.

Watching a video does very little. I could watch a video a hundred times, but the randomness of a battle and human error (whether your own or another) kinda of makes the video moot.I do agree with this to a degree.

Sure, you could argue that you can see mechanics of the fights through a video which I agree, but just like learning to shoot in a range, then going out into a real war are 2 different things.
That's not really the point I was making.
An explanation from players isn't going to help you any more than a video if said video is well made.
I don't personally like to go into a duty blind, though some people seem to enjoy it. That's fine.
If you want to go in blind and learn from trial and error, that's one thing. But not wanting to do that and asking people how fights work is truly pointless. If you want to know how a fight works, watch a video. Don't make people waste their time explaining when you could have watched a video. If you want to go in blind, well, just go in blind without asking about mechanics.
The OP obviously wasn't there for a blind run, so why ask people what to do when he could have watched a video beforehand without making them waste their time?
(Also, please note, I still do not approve of the overreaction the players had against the OP)
