Pretty much this.^ My Husband (Buddy Healer in Raids) learns differently then I do, I can read/watch whatever and understand the fight the moment I go in. For him, it is repetition/hands-on that works the best for him. (He'll DF an EX primal 100 times to learn it on his own if he has to).

My group has been down a DPS for a while, so we queue 7/8 for A4 and more often then not we get a new person. We offer TS or a text based explanation of the fight and 99.99% of the time (except for 1 cuz our OT messed up, lol) we 1-shot it. It took no less than 5 minutes either way to explain it and instead of wiping over and over and raging, we were done and out.

To me, it was simple, clean, to the point, and we got out faster than we would have ignoring the new person and rushing it. (Would have offered them to join our farm party, but never on the same server ).

Thank you Lilyanna, this is exactly what I am talking about. It's a comfort to see that there are good natured players out there like you.

This is a prime example for those who are complaining about eating a 15 minute loss, what a 5 minute explanation can do. Especially on content that's been out all of 2-3 weeks, but some can't be bothered to just simply take the time and avoid the wipe in the first place by being kind, and taking a moment to help and explain.

People don't logon to teach pugs, they really don't. If you can't be bothered to read up/watch a video then I can't be bothered to group with you? it's a pretty simple concept that has been in gaming ever since the internet was invented.

I have a strong feeling the Op wanted an explanation on what to do, but no one said anything, and they proceeded to wipe, then he ran to the forums.

Read up, educate yourself, stop wasting 7 other peoples time, the end.

If you don't want to explain things, if you want to have that sense of entitlement, fine. Feel free to do so. Just realize the only person to blame when you are eating dirt along with the rest of the group is because you refused to speak up and help in addition to the rest of the group that decided to remain silent.

There are so many posts on this forum that exemplify the issues within the community that are creating a toxic environment. Whats worse is that no one will ever agree. People are quick to say that the raids require teamwork and the one person who has yet to watch a video is not helping, yet in doing so they fail to realize that by not assisting that new person (even if they were in the wrong) is also contributing to the loss of the team.

I think the worst part about it personally is that most people refuse to look beyond what they feel is the correct thing to do. Its always black or white, If only we were able to be more open minded a solution may at some point become possible.
however that asking for the impassable one can not simply instill reasoning and logic.

Let me just say this:

It takes a hell of a lot less time explaining the fight than it does to wipe four or five times because no one bothered to explain something simple like the healer marks on A4.

Hell you can write 4 Macros for Alex and just press the corresponding 1 for which floor you are on lol.

Yes but nothing needs to be this way if ppl just relax and understand they can get what they need done and nothing is impossible.

You're right, nothing is impossible. but you get 60 minutes to complete a fight. Bosses will enrage after a short period of time. A bad decision could wipe the raid.

It's nice to talk about banding together and getting a win but the average player doesn't think that way and never will with the current game design and most MMO players won't stop being dicks unless you force them to.

It was game over you died and turn into a zombie then get booted from the room and your party has one less member to help them in short team work was your only way to beat the game and move on and my point i bet ppl now a days can't play a game like this because helping ppl is to hard

You should have watched a vid. I went in blind when it first came out and learned the hard way because nobody knew what to do. When a vid was available I watched it. I noticed a few tips too which I didn't know. If you want to go in blind go for it but don't expect other players to hold your hand either.

I'd also say the OP shouldn't have been kicked and the explanation was terrible. Though sometimes people do get fed up with explaining every run. Though the fault is also on them for not making a farm group.

You have no control over DF who you group with. Zero. All a person has to do is click a tick box and have the appropriate ilvl and progress. If you want control you can do that with a PF.



Pretty sure that's abusing the vote kick system, you can get reported and punished. There's no current option for "because they are new and I want to clear this now".

Difference of play style is not reportable. If you get kicked - [thats too bad]
