Why do people hate Bards so much??

and most of them don't play songs to support the others.

And I won't play Foe if the healer is the only caster and they are not DPSing at all. I will play for NIN if I remember to.
I play Mage's Ballad for a healer or a SMN if they drop around 30% MP. I've had healers tell me they don't need it but they are few.
I'll play Army's Paeon for myself unless someone asks. Because, yanno, not a mind reader.

In the coming patch following bard changes will take place:

Bards can now predict what every boss in the game is going to do after having fought them once!
Bards can also look into the future and see where AoE attacks are going to hit before they do!
Bards will now have tooltips read to them in the voice of Morgan freeman he will also narrate all the parties actions while the bard is under the affect of WM

This is coming from someone who blatantly told us in that old famous Bard topic
"BARDS PLEASE SING" or something of another that you don't sing.
"I choose Bard to DPS, not support."

So you're right, and you're one of them lol.
And this is why Bard's suck even more than they do now.
Bard is like...the WAR/SMN/beginning of MCH of 3.0. What a shame.

It's because a good bard, even if they're putting out everything they have, is still at the mercy of RNGesus for the crits to sustain high DPS. Bard owns the field if you have group AOE pulls, but even with WM has trouble getting sustained single target DPS that is comparable to the other DPS classes. I've been keeping a close eye on my damage numbers and it's really disheartening that an ilvl 176 bard, even putting everything she has into her rotation, still comes out behind the WAR on the parse in a depressing 5th place in an 8-man fight.

Most likely because a WAR's Fell Cleave (500 damage potency, which I think is the highest damage potency behind Limit Breaks) is delightfully OP. Deliverance gives the WAR a 5% damage increase and 10% crit rate when Uncontrollable (throw in some Berserk and Internal Release for extra oomph). Imagine a WAR doing 10k damage Fell Cleave to Ravana EX two times in a row (Infuriate). I think even a MNK would drop behind for a bit.

What they hate are bad players, bad players can be bards too.

Oh and this is FFXIV, class and jobs have their official short version: WHM, BLM, MNK, DRK.. Better learn to use them to not create confusion.

BLM's have to deal with that with Firestarter procs. It's not a huge deal .-.
