Can I get an honest opinion?

Money is tight right now and paying a monthly subscription is getting a little more stressful. I am thinking of walking away for awhile, but Id like something to keep playing similar.. so for those with actual recent experience in both games.. can you give me a comparison of:

Heavensward vs Elder Scrolls Online

To get an actual honest opinion I would recommend stepping away from the official boards from both because people who will reply on one board or another will obviously have a majority recommending that boards game. Perhaps asking in general MMO forums for an opinion between them. They both have their ups and downs but with money being tight and subscriptions mayhaps being out of reach I believe ESO is buy to play which carries its own bonuses and issues. I personally prefer this game but I will not be able to offer an unbias opinion on either of them.

ESO is actually pretty good. I have played it up to level 33 so far. While I do prefer FFXIV I can also understand saving the subscription fee. ESO costs the game and nothing else. There is a real money store, but most of the items that you can buy from it are cosmetic in nature.

If you're a fan of the Elder Scrolls series and the lore, you will probably enjoy it. Just don't expect Skyrim Online, lol.

In all honesty?

ESO was a god Sergio train wreck that was hemorrhaging subs on release. Shady business decisions were enough of a reason for me NOT to buy that game (preorder culture and basically requiring imperial edition to get a horse)

edit: Not even gonna fix the fact that my phone changed the word "Aweful" to Sergio. The game is now a God Sergio Trainwreck to me. >:E

It was a bud-riddled mess and it was something that was definitely NOT worth the purchase of the game + a monthly admission fee.

FFXIV:Heavensward, on the other hand, definitely earns its monthly fee, however it only earns the cost of the box if you have beaten the previous content. Don't waste your money if you haven't beaten up to 2.55 unless you REALLY love the game.

I would suggest looking around and seeing if You can find info on what they've changed in ESO. If the changes have been drastic enough? It might be a worthwhile game now, and seeing as it's gone F2P, that might make it worthwhile to play. But keep in mind, these are the same shady business dealers who paired the imperial faction + horse behind the collector's edition. They're not someone I'd give my money to.

Honest opinion? ESO is terrible, FFXIV is, together with WoW, the best on the market.

You can't even compare the two game, they have opposite aesthetics, gameplay, music and subscription model.

But basically ESO is an online (bad) elder scroll

ESO is a game with some weird animations. The walk and run animation is awful. Your character will be a robot in ESO.

I have never played ESO so I can't say, but if it helps, the game I enjoyed most after FFXIV on the PS4 is bloodborne.

Eso isn't a bad game and I still play it from time to time. If you're tight on money and want to play an MMO without a subscription then go give it a try it is worth the money to buy it anyway but don't hesitate to look at videos of the game on Youtube & co to make sure it is something you'll enjoy or not before buying. Otherwise you can also take a look at The Secret World with the same kind of economic model as ESO or wait for Wildstar since it's going F2P in some month.
