Problems flying in zone where Aether Attuned

Steps: I finished my Aether Current Attunement last night. I got the "HELP" popup in game that alerted me on how to fly. I mounted up on my Black Chocobo and jumped and was unable to take flight. I checked my Aether Attunement menu in Main Commands and saw that my Attunement was complete. I then tried mounting on other flying mounts I have like Manacutter or the creepy eyeball thing, to no avail. I have completed the quest that gave me the Aether compass, I completed Attunement, and am now toadying to fly and can not. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you check the option that makes it so you have to double jump to fly?

No I did not.

Have you attuned to every aether current in that area? Have you completed every side quest that also attunes to separate, special aether currents? Only after you've done all that, including the main scenario dungeon/trial for that area can you fly.

You are most likely just not pressing the jump button mid-air to initiate flying.
