ALL OF THIS!How about this: Whatever way you play is the right way.
I'm glad that some of you are, like, really good at math and are totally down with clearing a DPS check 4 seconds earlier than the next parry. However, that's how you play and you shouldn't expect someone else to play exactly like you. To be honest, all of this obsession over numbers has become an unhealthy practice of this community. You're breaking down a game that is meant to be enjoyed and you're consuming it as if it's some arduous task of work. Quit worrying about whether or not you can clear a dungeon as quickly as possible. Just try to clear it within the time limit set by the game.
Quit worrying about wiping multiple times. I know it gets frustrating, but just try and remember that it's a game and most people are just trying to have fun. Most don't really care about how quickly they can complete the newest gear set.
Remember, games are supposed to be fun.
SE ended this thread today.
They added a ~6500 dps check to Faust in A1. So tanks bring STR accessories.
Then they added a 25,000 damage tank buster to the actual boss. So tanks bring your VIT/Hybrids.
VIT onry tanks and STR onry tanks aren't ready for Savage. Players with both sets plus Hybrids are. (from a gear perspective)
A 25K tank buster (if that's indeed the case) doesn't leave much room for STR gear-sets or hybrids.SE ended this thread today.

As predicted i150s are going to be excellent until i220+

"Quickly put together the combined right side stats for the hell of it. Since we get a base of 581 accuracy with a parry-less i210 left side I'm just going to assume all accuracy requirements are met with that + whatever is forced on you from the right side.

For the full fending I didn't bother trading out the obviously overcapped accuracy for parry + better secondary. Don't have time to attempt to perfectly itemise for the skill speed requirement (edit: come to think of it, the wep should take care of that, heh, nevermind. edit 2: added acc and ss totals).
Full crafted is apparently better than Hybrid still. Just wish I wasn't morally obligated to give the slaying stuff to our DRG...."
As is the case in sports, sabremetrics and MMOs don't mix. It only serves to suck all of the oxygen out of the room.
Issue at hand is not tanks being all str but moreso on how well said tank knows how to play their job, no?
I know countless all str tanks, and my PLD is all str and have never had issues.
DK so far however i have mixed some vitality and str
Imagine how much nicer that fending set would look with 120 STR/245 VITAs predicted i150s are going to be excellent until i220+

Well, the ultimate story of this all is that if someone wants to start talking about healer / tank relationships, they better darn well have played both at end game at some point or at the very least tried to play a healer or tank in addition to whatever of the two they mained. 90% of these discussions always get fired up because someone playing one role that is commenting doesn't understand the other two roles of the trinity beyond the obvious tag lines of "healers heal people", "tanks take aggro", and "Dps brings the pain".
Also, anyone trying to do math in this game is probably digging a little too deep. The fights should have plenty enough wiggle room with the appropriate gear to not have to be the pinnacle of efficiency to complete, even the savage modes.
