Well, he is talking about my main (WAR). We are the least liked tank to be healing for. I do recognize his plight to say that full STR doesn't help healers, but either he has been running with poor tanks or he needs to upgrade his gears.

Right, and then someone said that, and then another healer went off about str being shitty, and then some str people tried to point out the bigger self heals + damage, and then vit tanks were like VIT IS STILL GOOD, and now we're here.

Basically, the vit side needs to stop. Str tanks never attacked them. They never even said people should roll all str before they're ready for it. Almost all of them suggest starting with vit and swapping to str as you get comfortable. But healers who have run with bad groups or are, themselves, bad, make threads blaming the failures of a few bad players on str tanks as a whole--despite the math working out that str tanks are better when the players can keep up with the, very slight, bit of extra demand. And then the Str players need to point that out to defend themselves from the lynchmob of poor healers healing poor tanks, and then the vit tanks, not wanting to feel sub-optimal, get defensive and start arguing back about the benefits of vit, and THIS thread happens.

Just let the thread die. There is no more to be discussed. STR, VIT tanks doesn't decide how the run goes.

This shouldn't even be a discussion. Use vit until you're comfortable with the fight and then incorporate more str as you see fit. Or don't, doesn't personally affect me. Sometimes PF/DF groups require more vit then others, it happens.

The thing I find most telling about this whole thread is the amount of people spewing information as fact and they don't even have Rav weapons or Alex NM gear. No offense, but your opinions aren't even valid. Why would I take advice from a player that doesn't appear to be seasoned? Makes absolutely no sense to me.

Post all you want,[never said anything like that. But if you don't appear capable of even clearing the content, what is your opinion about it truly worth? It makes it seem you are arguing about something you don't even understand.

So someone who cleared the content once got lucky and got an equipment drop, is more capable of making a post than a person who ran and cleared the content 9 times with no drop, or chose not to equip the weapon and its not showing on their profile for stalkers to check out? I only take advice from those who appear to have the proper equipment equipped. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Profiles only show what the person was doing when they logged out, shows no indication of what a persons experience is, and then that may not even be correct.

And his point was that your statement of such was invalid, because people could have cleared the content multiple times and not gotten a drop yet.

If they are an experienced player, I clearly wasn't talking to them then. Everyone knows who they are in this discussion.

Youve obviously never seen the dps a tank can push with an efficient party because you refuse to let go of this "tanks only tank" mindset, which is fine and all just know who to thank when that DF pug meets the dps check cause the tank is topping the dps chart and you get your first clear

There are fights where you can let loose and go sword stance or just try to max your dps out as a tank, but those fights are against bosses that stop continuously beating on you and are trying to do special attacks. I don't expect any healer to have to put up with myself running sword stance while main tanking the Dinosaur boss in Sohm Ahl or the first boss of Fractal Continuum. Unfortunately, it seems that some end game tanks have gotten it into their heads that healers aren't doing enough (they are), and need to be pushed further.

The healer is the last person in the group anyone should be pushing to their limit on purpose. They are keeping everyone in the group alive, not just the tank, and their cooldowns are not privy to the same kind of rules as tanks or dps.

So... Who's cleared alex savage 1f as a str tank already? Considering it's a dps check before reaching the final boss, the extra dps should make it easier.

How about this: Whatever way you play is the right way.

I'm glad that some of you are, like, really good at math and are totally down with clearing a DPS check 4 seconds earlier than the next parry. However, that's how you play and you shouldn't expect someone else to play exactly like you. To be honest, all of this obsession over numbers has become an unhealthy practice of this community. You're breaking down a game that is meant to be enjoyed and you're consuming it as if it's some arduous task of work. Quit worrying about whether or not you can clear a dungeon as quickly as possible. Just try to clear it within the time limit set by the game.

Quit worrying about wiping multiple times. I know it gets frustrating, but just try and remember that it's a game and most people are just trying to have fun. Most don't really care about how quickly they can complete the newest gear set.

Remember, games are supposed to be fun.
