Bold is why it's gone 37 pages. "The people i play with want me to use vit gear" is a perfectly lovely reason to use vit (or str). It's the stricken part that has perpetuated this and other threads so far. Your friends want you to wear vit so you wear vut. Good for you. That doesn't make str "wrong". It is not a tanks role to stack HP. Their role is to mitigate party damage. This is done by maintaining monsters attention and mitigation the damage directed at them. A tanks "job" isn't to have ad much HP as possible. Keep threat, mitigate damage is the purpose of a tank.

That's like saying a whm "role" is to have as much mp as possible. Mp doesn't make a healer heal harder just as hp doesn't mitigate damage or generate threat.
