Undersized party: Boss crafting mats too?

I understand from the tooltip it states that defeating enemies will yield no exp or items, but does this include the special boss crafting materials as well? The ADS illuminant, Kingly Whisker, and White Raven Fragment are a few examples of items, but with people reporting card drops and diamond dust still happening, deciphering whether or not these items will drop as well is difficult at best, time consuming and soul crushing at worst.

Materials do not drop. Cards are not counted as a boss drop for it has its own drop system I believe.

Diamond dust is something you get simply for completing the instance. It doesn't drop from the boss.

Diamond Dust is a guaranteed token for clearing the duty. Presumably you'd get an Expanse Totem for clearing Bismarck EX with an undersized party for the same reason.
I had a very successful Garuda farm party a few nights after Heavensward launched, and despite running a good twenty plus times not a single feather dropped for anyone. (We did get a pony for everyone, at least!)

Cards seem to be tied to a different loot system, as they're the only thing you'll see 'drop' in an undersized dungeon or primal.

Okay, so the going consensus is that crafting mats don't drop. It has not been directly confirmed by the dev team that this is definitely the case, but there's no information anywhere else stating otherwise.

This is what I wanted to know, basically. I don't care about cards and anything else.

This option has no effect on the strength of enemies or mechanics in the duties it is applied to. Players will still receive treasure rewards, first time completion bonuses, and experience points upon completion of duty when using this option. However, players will not receive experience points or items from enemies that appear prior to boss encounters. Spirit bond and soul resonance cannot be gained when using this option.

You don't receive item drops PRIOR to boss encounters. Since in an undersized party, chests still drop throughout the instance, I take this to mean bosses DO in fact drop items. Since this obviously does not count chest reward items, the only other thing it can be is items dropped from the actual kill, such as EX Primal crafting materials.

You can't undersize with HW content as far as I've seen.

I'm kinda in the same boat with others, seeing as primals are just boss fights and nothing more, until confirmed by devs it is hard to say if it can or not. Sure people can run it 20 times and not get it, but we are playing percents here right? Just cus it has a 20% chance to drop (or w.e the rate is) can still miss it 100 times.
