It sounds like you are very undergeared if the healer is spamming Cure I/II on you while also having Titan Egi hold an add for you isn't enough to survive with. You yourself said you were new to tanking yet you speak like you're an expert on the subject immediately. Maybe both you and the healer were undergeared. Also WHM is never supposed to open with Renew.

That sounds about like every run I do even with experienced players who think they're "All that" pull entire rooms when clearly there's not a single AoE dps in the group, and yet, they think they're smart enough to pull on their own so they do so anyways (Neverreap is the perfect example).

Though for people who refuse to learn mechanics, even after you've repeatedly explained the mechanics to, I'd give them a couple of shots at it, and if they still refuse afterwards, you're probably just better off either (as much as I hate to say it) abandoning the dungeon, vote abandon, and or vote kick.

But thing is how do you tell if the person is really trying, doesn't give a crap, or is just trolling. Also some are just jerks but people some times think I'm a jerk too from what I type when it's just me fooling around having fun its had to have people see it that way since you can't tell in type.

but what I will not tolerate is people joining my part finder groups when I stated I only want people who are exp up to a certain phase in it so many many many T9 and 13 wipes do to this. At lest ask and if they say no sorry move on.

If someone has been told the tactics and still does not listen to it after two wipes, then I think its only just for the remaining players to give him or her a ultimatum: Either the player acts like a teamplayer and follows the tactics or we kick him or her out and they can try it with another party. The sad thing is, they can always rejoin the group and ruin it for us.

In general I have a high tolerance for players doing stupid things, but the following 3 just makes me wanna summon Bahamut on their ass:

1. Tank that rush the group without talking with the rest of the group, these tank rush, before I can buff them and die. They type"where is mah healz?" and repeat the speedrush. I have learned that letting them die is the best solution, in time they will slow down and we can finish the run.

2. DPS that pull the mobs and keep standing in the AoE. Most of the time I heal them anyway, because it could be a internet issue, but there are times where I just stand there with a grin and watch their hp drop while they are standing in the AoE.

3. Healers who dps and do not heal the group. I understand as a healer if you are able to dps, do it. I do it with my SCH and the group loves me for it. But for some reason whenever I do the Main Scenario roulette I see both healers with cleric stance dpsing, while the other players are dying around them. As a healer your first priority should be to heal your team, do dps after their HP is back up.

These type of players are the worst, imo. The reason is, because whenever you tell them this, they go like "I pay my own subscription, so I can play however I want" and in a way this is true, but when playing with others you need to be aware that your actions can waste other peoples time.

That's when you tell them, "I pay my own subscription, too, and I can ALSO play however I want!" and then you kick 'em from the party.

It took me months to finally have a party good enough to complete Titan Extreme, so my tolerance has reached sainthood.

For instance, a party I was in last night wiped six times against the last boss of The Vault. I just kept encouraging people and we finally got it done.

my tolerance level is infinite, I play with whoever lands with me, I can only try my best, I dont mind wiping constantly, I dont mind doing over and over and over again stuff. I only ask tanks if they can try and use their various options to lower the intake of damages, more then not it works fine, I had tanks going from full down to zero in one shot, I had tanks never using ANY of their skills, I had newby, excellent players I just loved it to meet them, I had experienced that were bad, new that were good, new that were bad and experienced that were good....the ONLY think that I have tolerance zero is for insults, the rest, I just dont care...each time is a challenge for me, to beat a content with bad people (so called bad) is wonderful, beat a content with good people is magnificent....every time there is something new to learn, new ways, new options that forces you to reinvent your ability to play whatever class you choose and adapt, probably the most difficult thing.

If all were of this same mind, we would just be in a perfect world, the world is not perfect, but I try to find my perfect world in this imperfect place, is all that matters.

Your last sentence works both ways though, if healers waste your time by not Healing, others waste the time of healers by not using their ability to mitigate damages....is not always healers the problem...

I have a high tolerance for small mistakes and people who don't understand their job and are willing to learn, low tolerance for people who don't know their job and don't respond to anything regardless.

my normal way for dealing with that is a noise asking if they even speak English, then telling them to pay attention. if nothing works, i leave.
