If you get bored of FF then move on to another game for a bit and come back when you want. The game is still there when you come back. As for me I am having too much fun with the end game content.

Housing, Gold Saucer, Triad, Choco Racing, Glamour Hunting, Minion Hunting, Crafting, Gathering, Exploring, Hunts, leveling alts, Gardening, Talking to my FC and that is not even my end game content coming up next week.
