Do I have to do anything to make Selene work?

Sic is ok, but not preferred. The way sic works is, your pet will use all of their cooldowns whenever they become available, normally at the pull.

To clarify on this point, your pet will use all of their cooldowns when a situation presents itself to do so. Selene will use Fey Wind whenever she's in combat, Fey Caress whenever a debuff is up on an ally, Silent Dusk when a mob is readying anything with a cast time, and Embrace whenever an ally is below 80% HP.

The downside is that Selene is not terribly intelligent. She'll try to cleanse debuffs that cannot be removed, she'll try to silence abilities that cannot be silenced, she'll use her haste buff at the wrong times, and she won't heal people that really should be topped off.

So use Obey. Always!
