    You also can't summon a minion with another mount out. And an aleady summoned minion get invisible if you call a mount, not only the companion.

    How do you even summon a mount guys? I got the Collectors Edition yesterday, and would love to use my cool Coueri mount! HELP!

    I wish we had gotten a new companion to use in heavensward. Atleast give us the option to switch the normal chocobo for the fat chocobo as a companion.

    This is a really dumb restriction. Basically you can either never regularly level your companion or you can only use a chocobo mount.

    You first need to unlock and obtain a Company chocobo, which in turn requires you to join a Company. Keep playing through the story, it's not exactly optional.
