Server Reccomendations

Hey all. I've been thinking about making an alt in a new server for a change of scenery, but I can't decide where. Going by names alone I've narrowed it to Excalibur, Faerie and Midgarsomr, but I'm open to suggestions. Anyone got any reccomendations?

Currently Excalibur is closed to new characters, so don't even bother.

Faerie and Midgardsormr are open to character creation, so realistically your choices are those two.

Depends on how much of an active server you want. I played very briefly on an alt on midgard, and the place felt absolutely dead to what I was used to playing on a legacy server. I assume faerie is the same. If you want on a legacy server (which I think Excalibur is) you just have to try to get on at offpeak times and watch for when creation is available.

Excalibur is legacy and very active and friendly. You may have to wait to create your character in the wee hours of the morning, though. I don't know much about the other two.

Sargatanas is an active legacy server, and there are people everywhere.

A legacy server is one that has existed since 1.0, which means they are generally full and should be avoided at all costs. That is what caused the datacenter problems at the launch of 3.0, too many people flocked to these servers and it caused problems.

Thanks, I had a feeling that was the case. So Excalibur and Balmung are out. Anyone from Middy, Levi, Faerie or Gil that can give an idea on how they are?

Gilgamesh is full too, avoid it as well. Its on the same datacenter as Balmung and helped cause the problems. They are the 2 most populated NA servers.

I've always found Faerie to be pretty active. And it's full of nice people. Hunts get a little crazy sometimes, but I suspect all servers are seeing that right now.
