Please reconsider adv. jobs starting at class ranks

Please reconsider advanced jobs starting at the same rank of its parent class.
I'd be fine with them unlocking at 30 or 20 but you'd be able to level them from that level and up.

With the upcomming exp changes and the ones we got already, getting to 50 is already inceridbly fast and besides what little end game content we have, there is barely any group content to partake in.

Having to level adv jobs up would be a great idea so I'm not sure why this path wasn't taken.
While some might call it a timesink, if you dont enjoy leveling aspects in a rpg then perhaps you're playing the wrong genre.

One of the charms of playing FF online games is that you can experience every class/job/storyline with making just one character instead of making 10 alts.

Having jobs start at 50 (in general most players have 2-3 50s) or whatever rank your class is at the time of unlocking would be like missing out on half the job, at least for me leveling up a class/job is half the fun, its progress and character development, one of the key reasons to play a mmorpg.

One thing a MMO should inspire to give is the feeling that there's always things to do, if you feel you have done all that the game has to offer, then the MMO is simply lacking.

Again take a look at XI with its multiple classes/jobs, and in that game leveling to cap (75) took probably at least 10 times longer then leveling to 50 in XIV and it had 21(or more?) jobs to choose from.

When I log on I want to think "oh what should I do today, i have so many options!", in XIV I constantly get the feeling of thinking "ok I shouldnt' level x class cause then I wont be able to experience it leveling as its advanced job" and this is from playing 1-2h a day on average...

I'm fine with the game having casual elements to it, but even for casaul play there should be things to do, and simply pumping in handfulls of random NPC quests, escorts ,events and sparse end game content every 2-3 months will not be able to keep up with how fast players go trough it.

Sorry for the long post and I know this probably wont change the implemention of the advanced jobs, but voicing my opinion to let devs know what I'd like to see in their game is one of the reasons forums are here.

I liked having parties be something that was fun, and enjoyable. I loved having a lot of different ways to experience those parties (different jobs). Getting through the levels in a party was a main part of FFXI, and it was awesome! I never had an MMO experience like that since. FFXIV can accomplish this.

    I agree with the OP

I am assuming this is because the advanced jobs are basically the classes but with more specialized abilities for partys.

I am personally ok with it but SE needs to release new classes (Arcanist, musketeer, etc) soon as well. That and the level cap needs to be risen.

not gonna happen. It's like reach level 10 in wow, then restart from 1 after put the first talent point. It don't have sense, since that aren't classes but specializzations

I'm fully aware of how the system is set up now, I'm mearly stating that I would prefer a different approach to it.

And XIV is pretty far from WoW's talent tree specs with their new class/job system, theese jobs we're getting will fullfill the same party role but more specialised for party play then solo, whilst in WoW some classes can change their role from meele to healer to tank etc.
And 1 talent would give you at best 1 new ability and more then often a 3% crit increase or similar effect, while a job opens up a whole bunch of new abilites and traits, so the comparison doesnt realy work.

An example on further problem that this system could have avoided by having jobs be leveled up outside of the class itself is that I know quite a few friends of mine who enjoy to play only caster classes in RPGs and MMOs.
And beign limited to just 2 of them to level up, they aren't able to join into our static exp groups unless they then are forced to play classes they have no intresst in playing.

While the level cap should and probably will be raised at some point, doing it anytime soon would be a bad move as it would obsolote what little content we already have for end game.

More classes will come and wil be apreciated, but just adding 1-2 classes won't solve the issue I have with this system in the long run.
And just adding too many classes with similar game mechanics (xi is guilty of this at some degree) also isnt a good idea for a modern MMO.

I don't like their decision on this either. I would like Jobs to also have their own levels too.

I think you are building up jobs too much OP. I believe they will be just predetermined builds that you equip that will give you a boost in stats and access to new abilities while limiting others. In XI each job had it's own theme and differentiated itself from the others but I don't expect that here.
