I agree, I love the way they handled flying in this game. It forces you to spend time exploring and getting to know the new areas and mobs and gives a sense of accomplishment that I really haven't experienced much of since XI.

Really enjoyable read! It's great to see such a positive post, and I think SE deserves every bit of praise you gave them!

I think is the best game out by a considerable margin. I recognize, I and most of the rest of here are paying to play so that is not much of a revelation, if we think something else is better we might be crazy. I have played all of the major titles since UO and have led, both small and large guilds. I have led more than a thousand raids...yay me. All that means very little, my opinion is worth no more than anyone else's.
I am glad you are having fun, do something else when it is no longer fun to you is my only advice. The only truly foolish people are the ones who rage on the forums complaining how horrible everyone and everything is. I stop absorbing their words and hear "I am an idiot, I continue to pay for something that enrages me and log in multiple hours a day to be annoyed by the game and everyone who plays it, when the problem is really me, everyone else will be better off if I just do something else. The only real satisfaction I get is from ruining your experience, please listen, I want you to be as miserable as me"

You should check out any one of the dozens of bard threads, MSQ threads, Crossdressing threads, or basically any thread requesting anything other than the status quo.

When i wrote the part about the community being better, i meant in game. Forums are usually not the best place to judge behavior that you would most likely come across in game
@Ceodore While i can agree with some of what you wrote, the glamour system in RIFT you speak of for example is something being handed to a player, no work needed. I despise game concepts like this. You pay to play the game, not instant win, nor have everything unlocked for you right away. While i will not argue with everything you wrote, it almost feels as if you wish my review had been negative the whole way through. My review was to show how I as a new player saw the game, and what attracted me to it to continue playing, and make it my main game.
OH NO, not at all. I was happy to see someone with some positive to say about the game. And coming from a player with all the crafters at 50, I understand that a glamour system like RIFT's was something of a insta-win, but I still feel if you worked hard enough to get the piece, there shouldn't be so many obstacles between you wanting to wear it. I just felt that your review might have been too flowery, but then I also feel the same way about many reviews from the main stream critics. It's usually chalk full of erroneous and extravagant wording while keeping focus away from the pros and cons of the gritty details. But, perhaps I'm too much of a critic myself. However, I do stand by my thoughts of advising you to expand your repertoire of online games to include not the just the popular, but also small developer free to plays. It will give you a better idea of systems that are just aweful compared to systems that are truly innovative, much like GW2's "quest" system I mentioned. As it stands, this game is a solid piece of work. Nothing really horrible, and some truly great music, classes, and nostalgic fights. However, I still feel it has room for improvements on certain aspects. They aren't game breaking things, but they are things that could make the game itself even better. I also feel that not seeing the flaw in the glamour system I mentioned is a bit hypocritical considering your critique of the crafting system and the difficulty to level it. You either have to buy the prisms from other players, or craft them yourself. And while not horribly over priced, glamour prisms can still eat a massive amount of your gil. I would know, I've taken advantage of said system to make quite a profit as well with my across the board 50 crafters. Even if it might eat into my own profits, I still feel RIFT's system was the best one I have ever seen. When i wrote the part about the community being better, i meant in game.
