Oh, you mean this list then:
http://www.eviloverlord.com/lists/overlord.html
Yeah, I wish the Ascians as a whole just followed that list more...that would spare us from the usual evil organization clichés ("Impossible!", "You would rise a hand against us?!", "Mwahahah!", etc.) they have going right now.
...Except from Elidibus, obviously.
He seems like he's the most mature/smartest of the bunch.
Maybe it used everything she had to bind us, and she putted a front as to seem it was too ez.
This may be a spoiler, so alerting. As for Elidibus us needing us for something but then calls on the WOD, remember what the Arche Bishop saw in us before he came to an end. He saw us as a WOD, though he did not know or understand what that was. He just saw us as dark. The person who stood before him on the moon, was the very same WOL that was in the 2.0 trailer. I believe he was a stand in for all adventurers (WOL). I believe that we are the wod or one side of us that we haven't become aware of yet.

As for our characters becoming primals, we have become stronger them it seems. Also we have become far more powerful then we ought to, Elidibus states that as well. The problem with power and that much power, it can cause even the most pure of thought to be corrupted by it. I would not be surprised if we were turning to the dark side. I find it interesting that after we defeat the Holy See, both Y'shotla and Alphinaud seem to brush off our victory as if it were nothing. Just another day at the office. It seems they are blind to the incredible power we have. I do not think that Elidibus is blind to how he can use us to his advantage. It could be we aren't aware yet that we are becoming a wod. My theory is that Elidibus is sending what Warriors of Dark he has, not to kill us, but to influence us to his side, to embracing the wod inside us?
A full party required dungeon, that is actually two light parties that see the other as the WOD's crew, and must face them as a dungeon boss , winner goes on to WoD, loser goes on to a different boss? This may be a spoiler, so alerting. As far as Elidibus, i think he sees a use in the main character, but we aren't exactly a tool he can control. Either that or his role among the ascians is different. Zodiark's defensive team?
Its speculation, but i do think there may be something amiss with us.

Hmm that is possible, we will see how SE handles this. As far as Elidibus is concerned if you remember back to our first meeting with him, I think it was the 2.1 story? He said he thought we would come around to his view at some point. ( I plan to go back and watch that cutscene, will post a quote from him to make sure my memory is accurate.) It seems he would rather have us on his side. He may feel it is possible to influence us over to becoming WOD.A full party required dungeon, that is actually two light parties that see the other as the WOD's crew, and must face them as a dungeon boss.

Calling it. The story is gonna be a rehash of the Majin Buu saga from DBZ. The energy of the WoL and the WoD clashing is gonna awaken Zodiark.
What puzzles me is why you think this is a Japanese thing specifically. There are more than a ton of non-JP villains who failed to read the Evil Overlord list too; not that it doesn't happen a lot, just seems weird to single them out.
Igeyorhm directly references our partially restored Blessing of Light at that point so I was under the impression the extent of her power over us was just barely enough to restrain us...
