im sure there have been plenty of times but i imagine (going off what nabrialis said about not killing minfilia) that they are afraid of elidibus going "ELIDIBUS SMASH" on them...So I may have come a bit unprepared when making this post as I'm not sure of the particular Ascian's name off the top of my head, but here goes...
I'm really surprised that the Ascian who shows up with the archbishop at the end of the Bismarck story fight doesn't just throw us off the floating island. I was thinking about it today. He easily lifts us up and holds us in place with his dark magic whilst they steal our hard-earned key...but why does he not just flick his wrist and send us flying off this tiny flying island's edge?
To my understanding, it's doubtable that Cid would have been able to come to our rescue while falling since he was towing the aforementioned island. I don't think we could have summoned a flying mount while falling since you can't summon a mount whilst jumping or falling in the overworld. I suppose you could argue we could teleport since we can do that in the air now, though we still can't do that while falling from, say, a cliff.
Again, it just sort of seems like it would have been an easy thing within this Ascian's power to do...even if he wasn't sure it'd actually kill us, it'd get us out of the way for a bit. I know there's a thousand "what ifs" but I just thought this one was kind of fun since it just came to mind. Were there any other obvious kill-shots the Ascian's haven't taken at us yet that maybe I just don't remember? Curious to hear what you guys think on it!

The rains have ceased, and we have been graced with another beautiful day. But you are not here to see it..
I don't know if he wants us dead still. The WoD may be called on to capture us, not kill us. Or to provide enough of a distraction that Elidibus can do his thing

He certainly needs us for something, he has mentionned that we are the Key for whatever he is doing.
I do see that WoD might be there to make sure we aren't TOO strong for what Eli wants us to do.

Calling it. The story is gonna be a rehash of the Majin Buu saga from DBZ. The energy of the WoL and the WoD clashing is gonna awaken Zodiark.
I think he wants to prolong the conflict, so the chaos can continue to feed Zodiark. He seems to think the other Ascians are acting to fast, maybe he knows Zodiark needs more power before he can be reborn.
The WoD seems like the tool to provide a counter to us.

This may be a spoiler, so alerting. As for Elidibus us needing us for something but then calls on the WOD, remember what the Arche Bishop saw in us before he came to an end. He saw us as a WOD, though he did not know or understand what that was. He just saw us as dark. The person who stood before him on the moon, was the very same WOL that was in the 2.0 trailer. I believe he was a stand in for all adventurers (WOL). I believe that we are the wod or one side of us that we haven't become aware of yet.

As for our characters becoming primals, we have become stronger them it seems. Also we have become far more powerful then we ought to, Elidibus states that as well. The problem with power and that much power, it can cause even the most pure of thought to be corrupted by it. I would not be surprised if we were turning to the dark side. I find it interesting that after we defeat the Holy See, both Y'shotla and Alphinaud seem to brush off our victory as if it were nothing. Just another day at the office. It seems they are blind to the incredible power we have. I do not think that Elidibus is blind to how he can use us to his advantage. It could be we aren't aware yet that we are becoming a wod. My theory is that Elidibus is sending what Warriors of Dark he has, not to kill us, but to influence us to his side, to embracing the wod inside us?
