This may be a spoiler, so alerting. As for Elidibus us needing us for something but then calls on the WOD, remember what the Arche Bishop saw in us before he came to an end. He saw us as a WOD, though he did not know or understand what that was. He just saw us as dark. The person who stood before him on the moon, was the very same WOL that was in the 2.0 trailer. I believe he was a stand in for all adventurers (WOL). I believe that we are the wod or one side of us that we haven't become aware of yet.

As for our characters becoming primals, we have become stronger them it seems. Also we have become far more powerful then we ought to, Elidibus states that as well. The problem with power and that much power, it can cause even the most pure of thought to be corrupted by it. I would not be surprised if we were turning to the dark side. I find it interesting that after we defeat the Holy See, both Y'shotla and Alphinaud seem to brush off our victory as if it were nothing. Just another day at the office. It seems they are blind to the incredible power we have. I do not think that Elidibus is blind to how he can use us to his advantage. It could be we aren't aware yet that we are becoming a wod. My theory is that Elidibus is sending what Warriors of Dark he has, not to kill us, but to influence us to his side, to embracing the wod inside us?

Hmm that is possible, we will see how SE handles this. As far as Elidibus is concerned if you remember back to our first meeting with him, I think it was the 2.1 story? He said he thought we would come around to his view at some point. ( I plan to go back and watch that cutscene, will post a quote from him to make sure my memory is accurate.) It seems he would rather have us on his side. He may feel it is possible to influence us over to becoming WOD.

im sure there have been plenty of times but i imagine (going off what nabrialis said about not killing minfilia) that they are afraid of elidibus going "ELIDIBUS SMASH" on them...

But would Elidibus care? The Ascians all seem to have their own goals for the Warrior of Light, and I'm sure if we were to die we would be less of a thorn in his side as much as every other Ascian. Then again, even though he was introduced fairly early on, his goals are still a mystery.

As for the OP, it kind of bothered me too. Especially since they kept us alive there, and later at the Research Facility, they are all like 'YOU'VE GROWN TOO STRONG. DIE!" I can understand they weren't expecting for us to regain the blessing, but if I was a villain, I wouldn't take chances and clear the bases when I got the chance.

Back to point one, I feel like the Ascians really can't make up their minds on what they want to do with us. Hopefully with the three Leeroy Jenkins' gone, Elidibus can take charge and the Ascians can have a single, clear cut goal on what they want to do.

What puzzles me is why you think this is a Japanese thing specifically. There are more than a ton of non-JP villains who failed to read the Evil Overlord list too; not that it doesn't happen a lot, just seems weird to single them out.

I don't think we could have summoned a flying mount while falling since you can't summon a mount whilst jumping or falling in the overworld.

I just had this vision of a SMN summoning Garuda to replicate this scene....only the Egi is too small and we just slam into it, taking it with us!
