I think I speak for the majority of the playerbase when I say that Final Fantasy XIV is a beautifully crafted world. The locales, lore, classes and characters are very well done and engaging. This comes with a catch, however. You've crafted a number of exotic, diverse species with compelling cultural identities and visual styles. And you won't let us play as them. The Sylphs, the Ixali, the Qiqirn, these are very interesting species, but we're always on the outside looking in.

As for myself, I was very excited for the Au Ra and was all too glad to main one. And then I saw the Vanu Vanu. As soon as I saw them, there was this absolute letdown. Not because they were bad. The opposite. This was the coolest race I'd ever seen in any MMO...and I couldn't be them.
