    Gearing up 2 weeks late

Due to my never ending cycle of switching mains, I've decided I want to dedicate my gearing up progress on dk.

I was using my weekly stuff on drg, I got the lore pants, midan helm, hands, belt, bracelet and ring

I also have 1 leg token from midas

Knowing that, how would I go about gearing up my dk, or tanks in general, would it be exactly the same as if it was 3.2 launch again, even though I'll be 2 weeks behind? I'm guessing so.

Probably a silly question I just thought I'd ask.

Edit: I guess I should note I don't do savage so there's that

Switching mains in the middle of gearing up, especially with new patches are never a smart move - as you mentioned, you're 2 weeks behind.

From what I've heard, the consensus for tanks in general:
    1) Get the Lore chest piece (2 weeks).
    2) Do not get the lore pants - get midas instead.

Here's something you can refer to: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...2_1st_7_weeks/

I'm following one of the recommendation that allows me to complete 9 out of 11 upgrades in 3 weeks.

If you don't do savage its not really a big deal. Had someone in Anti-Tower in a mix of 190-200 gear who held hate against my i214 smn with minimal problems, yet one with a mix of 210+new gear couldn't hold more than 1 mob at a time, its all in how good you are at your job when the differences are this low.

The cycle will begin anew all too soon so its rarely a big deal if you are not doing the most current savage. Which is honestly just a glorified ex primal anyway so...

For Lore id go Chest > head > boots> then your accs.
for Midan gear id going belt > ring > neak > ears > pants
I also bought the crafted gloves but if i was forced to grab one id go midan gloves

I was just getting Midian legs since I already had 2 springs. If anything the lore tomes for legs could be spent buying the lore tokens for the weapon instead. Two tokens a week for 5 weeks should leave enough for hands, feet, head, or accessory by week 7.

If you dont do savage it really doesnt mattet what you get first. Just get ehat you can and have enough lore ready when you can get the weapon

If you have the gil, you can be all caught up in no time. You even have the time left to get a lore chest befor having to save for your weapon. I haven't really looked at the tank gear for secondary stats yet, aside from the midas chest, even though it has parry, it will be mine! But if you are not doing savage, one or two pieces that aren't bis are not going to mess you up badly.

Honestly yeah I've been heavily considering just buying some crafted stuff

Thing is, I could afford it, but I couldn't afford it AND to pentameld it

And I really feel it'd be a waste to buy a bunch of 220 and not have it pentamelded

Probably not worth the money unless you have hookups, but a 220 ring and the 220 gloves should have some very good staying power, especially if you aren't savaging.

It's not so bad. I don't think we have a ton of people making the armor on Jenova. I can send you the name of a reliable crafter who can do the CRP accessoies. Also if you don't want to spend a bunch of gil, some of the crafters were taking a bunch of eso mats as payment for a piece.
