    The fact that Alphinaud even mentioned "trying to save Estinien" means that we will save him. However, that doesn't mean he will live. Basically one of two things will happen: We save him and he lives, or we save him and he dies... with a death scene ala Hauche, most likely.

    Knowing SE's style, they wouldn't have mentioned saving Estinien if we weren't going to do it.

    Alph actually isn't the only character to specifically mention attempting to save Estinien.

    The other? (that I know of anyway) Well, he's sitting outside the Observatorium. And yells at me for talking to him when I'm not a Dragoon.
