Well minus the serious competition bit I agree with your extrapolated extension of my point; I don't see anything wrong with being locked out of seasonal event items I missed (there are lots; most are available in the cash shop and I'm not buying them but that's beside the point.)

Or, what if one day they choose to reduce the subscription price of this game to $9.99 a month, or offer a 1 year subscription option at $9.99 per month, or simply make the game free to play? Would that just be the last straw if other players were enjoying the same discount as you? You simply have to be receiving a better deal despite the reduced cost you enjoyed since the relaunch?

    Just curious.
My personal kneejerk is I wouldn't mind the reduced subscription eventually showing up as a Veteran reward, and obviously if the whole mess went FTP it'd stop being relevant, but if the general subscription dropped I think they ought to drop Legacy rates along with it (along with the rates of your proposed reduced-rates Veterans) per their promises. I doubt I'd quit playing if they didn't, but it might depend on my relationship with the game at that hypothetical point. It's less about me being special and/or getting a superior deal, and more about standing by pledges explicitly made.

Nowhere did I say I had to be receiving a better deal?

Edit: Unrelated to your weirdly hostile tenor, Gyson, legit thanks for reminding me about editing to skirt the char limit. I haven't been active on here in awhile.
