*Sigh* You're both as bad as each other tbh I am a 1.0 player along with my husband with over 15 years of mmo experience and I am tired of the grind myself but I still play as I love my friends in honesty I hate the direction the game has taken & I play less and less each day, also Yes this community is getting worse infact because FFXIV follows a style of play WoW does I'm sure that's to blame but older players don't help by aggravating these sorts of flame baits.
We may as well accept it the game will not have some of the great feature's it used to have and YES to all those who who flame 1.0 it DID have great features it also had bad ones.
As for OP I don't care no more have the Goobue mount it makes no difference to me as I am a shadow of my former self and I don't give a damn no more as new people will always want and beg for things they cannot have but Dev's usually eventually cave in for $$$.
Only obtainable with a time machine, and they cost a lot.
Only if you went to different regions (from Camp Broken Water (Thanalan) to Camp Nine Ivys (Black Shroud) instead to Halatali (still Thanalan) to do the lv 45 leves)

I'm more surprised people are making a huge stink over what is basically a palette swapped mount. I thought people hated the copy pasta in this game or was I told wrong?
You're wrong, they only hate copy pasta they can see. But when its copy pasta their narrow perspective allows them to miss they dont mind.
Same. It's unique for a reason.I'm a non-legacy player who loves having everything I can, but even I say no to this. The people who have that mount have been here since the 1.x cycle, and they deserve to have as many special items as they can to show that. If they're still playing from back then, then they deserve their unique bonuses.....
Just to clarify, this is incorrect. It was not a quest reward. If you had a combat class at or above level 30, you spoke to the Wandering Minstrel south of Camp Bloodshore in La Noscea once, he told you a prophecy and then he gave you a horn that unlocked the mount. That single interaction gave you the item; it wasn't a quest and it wasn't in Coerthas.
Edit: Also, I'm a Legacy Campaign player, I supported the game when many others had run for the hills. I'd like it if the Goobbue had been tied to the account rather than to the character (I'm an alt-aholic and not all of my alts have it) but I'm fine with it being the way it is so that the integrity of the limited time run of the item/mount stays in tact. I disagree with the re-release of previous holiday items as well. To me, these limited time things represent memories, of the event, of the year, of the character's life, of the friends you did things with back then. To have those items be buyable (either with gil or cash) cheapens that. I'll notice someone wearing some event gear from years ago and try to reminisce about it with them only for them to not know where their item even came from since they just bought it. That's ... sad. To me at least. We're all entitled to our own opinions and that's just mine.

I have 35 years experience playing MMOs, including literally hundreds you've never heard of because you're not hardcore or sexy enough. In fact I've played so many MMOs so thoroughly that my knowledge of the genre cannot be surpassed. Women find me irresistible as a result.
Anyway, you're all hopeless noobs. Eat it chumps.

What this thread has turned into, which, to be fair, is what most threads of this kind of topic turn into.

I concur - I'd be okay with a reskin. Maybe a snow goobue? As someone who played 1.0 alpha all the way till they shut down the servers, I have to say that the game improved by leaps and bounds by the time 1.23 hit. However, the above poster is right that it was still fundamentally flawed. There are a few things I would have liked them to take from 1.0 when they released 2.0.
One in particular is Anima or teleporting. I would love it if they brought this back. However, they should mix what we have now with 1.0... meaning you could spend gil to "recharge" your anima at crystal.
As for the Goobue, absolutely not. It was a legacy exclusive, same as the Legacy Chocobo or the Legacy mark on our characters. Allowing people to buy it would defeat the entire purpose and be rather insulting. Re-skins, exactly what you have with the Beastmen Goobue, are fine. To ask for the original is insulting.
I got the Goobue on one of my characters, but not the other.
My 1.0 character Taprara Rara has her goobue mount, and since I never got her through the 2.0 story, it's the one really cool thing she has whenever I fell the urge to roll around as a Lalafell in the game. (That, and her tattoo.)
Interestingly, the Legacy bird is available on a per account basis, so there are 2.0 era characters puttering around on the Legacy birds. The only characters with the Legacy Goobue mount, however, actually were in 1.0 for the summer where it was available.
