The goobbue and back tattoo aren't 'legacy' things.. Goobbue was obtainable in 1.x even if you never get legacy status. Tattoo is something every character created in 1.x got in ARR (minus a few exceptions caused by a bug)

Also, the goobbue wasn't 'earned' so much. You talked to an NPC, you got the horn, that was just about it

Whats funny is that theres a small portion of legacy players that don't have the legacy goobue mount because they didn't speak with the npc during the 1.0 era. XD

You can hand over the nostalgia goggles now...
And you can hand over the infatuation of illusion goggles now. 1.0 was rushed, it had bad content. It also had more depth and soul then any modern mmo model will ever have. And the potential for expansion on the game in the old 1.0 model where far greater then any you find here now.
Yeah 1.0 had copy pasted landscape but 2.0 will forever more have copy pasted content and a meaningless world. Thank you Yoshida san for delivering on the promise of making sure to relaunch the game in the highest FF quality you can.

Shame he had to remove what little we had of elemental weakness/strenghts since it would have been too difficult for the "community" to understand.

OT: im sure if enough ppl cry and want, they will get the gobbue, the legacy mark and the legacy chocobo.

Well, there was a level requirement to get the goobbue, and there were people who did pay for the legacy status, but never actually played the game enough to get that the level to get the Goobbue.

"Legacy" is a pretty accurate term for anything pre-2.0, especially things like the Goobbue and tattoo since SE went out of their way to say they wont be obtainable after ARR's launch. They aren't literally Legacy items like the Chocobo and you didn't need Legacy status to obtain them, but you had to be playing during the Legacy Campaign to be eligible for them.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

No but seriously limited rewards should stay limited...Except the Cait Sith Minion, hiding that in PS4 preorders was very much a dick move from SE.

You apparently aren't aware that Legacy characters are different from Legacy Accounts.

Legacy characters are any characters made during 1.x. Legacy mounts are the Goobue and special Chocobo. And the mark on Legacy characters is called the Legacy mark.

A Legacy account is something entirely different. Those who paid for 3 months of subscription or more during a certain time period of 1.x were granted a "Legacy account" status and given lower subscription rate.

I have 2 legacy accounts, I have multiple legacy characters.. Problem is, Square has used the 'legacy' term to refer to both the official 'legacy' program (chocobo and reduced sub prices), and later also for things like the mark (hence the /legacymark command).. So, if all 1.x players are 'legacy' players, then the goobbue is a legacy mount. If however legacy players are only those with the legacy status on their account, then the goobbue is NOT a legacy mount.

Let them wear it as a badge of honor for suffering through 1.0, as they do their tattoos and scorched chocobos.
absolutely love this. I am a legacy player and many aspects of the game were garbage but it was also a highly enjoyable game. I still wish they had some aspects of it in this version.... original aurum vale was so much better than current version. the hamlet defense was also fun.... providing you didn't have to farm it, successfully triple melding when the loss would have been horrifying (though happy this isn't the case anymore lol

I got the Cait Sith minion from a PC pre-order. It was also available when the game first came out, not just for PS4 launch. As a matter of fact:

If you didn't get a code, something went wrong.
If you played 1.0, you did have to pre-order a new copy of the game to get the code, I believe. At least that's what I did. I admit, that was kinda weird. Maybe there was a way around it and I just never found out?
