Come on, I'm not even a Legacy player and I'd love me that goobbue as bad as anyone but this would be the worst thing. The people who earned it did so by playing a game that was absolute garbage. Let them wear it as a badge of honor for suffering through 1.0, as they do their tattoos and scorched chocobos.

I'm tired of people calling 1.0 garbage especially when they admit they didn't play it. 1.23 was when the legacy goobbue came out and it was a fantastic game at that time. There was no suffering on my part. The original Nael Van Darnus (Hard) fight was to this day the best boss fight I have ever done in any game.

1.23 was a good, very passable game that still was fundamentally flawed (it still had the terrible cut and pasted zones which were virtually empty, the terrible connection issues, the laggy interface) - ARR may not be perfect but it is still light years ahead of anything that 1.0 accomplished (which for everything it did right it did so many more things wrong). But this discussion isn't about if 1.0 was good or not, its about once-only bonuses coming back, which I completely disagree with.

That is life - there will always be times where there will be something offered for a short time and it's a case of "get it while they last". If you're too late or unable to get it at that time for any reason, well, it's too bad.

The original goobue mount and the Legacy chocobo are examples of this, they were rewards for those who stuck with the game in it's darkest hour when SE needed the support. That was their whole purpose. If you didn't get them when they were available then you have missed out I'm afraid.

Thus they will always be exclusive - if SE ever did bring them back they would alienate the very fan base that actually stuck with them in the time they needed them the most, something no company would ever be that stupid or arrogant to do.

Actually the goobbue was made available in 1.20b and was obtainable until (I think) 1.23a back when lettered patches were a thing.

I started playing at 1.23 and I had to powerlevel my first job to 30 to get the Goobbue mount. It went unobtainable shortly after I hit 30, like a day or two lol

absolutely love this. I am a legacy player and many aspects of the game were garbage but it was also a highly enjoyable game. I still wish they had some aspects of it in this version.... original aurum vale was so much better than current version. the hamlet defense was also fun.... providing you didn't have to farm it, successfully triple melding when the loss would have been horrifying (though happy this isn't the case anymore lol

This just brought back melding my bow... *rocks in the corner* please no more....

In any case, I can understand the desire for these items, however I I feel like much that was special in 1.0 has already been carried over already. Think of the darklight gear etc. Much of the current gear we have now in low levels are reskinned from 1.0. Some things just need to be left alone, let the people who were there have something that they can look back on and know the story behind those items.

I'm a non-legacy player who loves having everything I can, but even I say no to this. The people who have that mount have been here since the 1.x cycle, and they deserve to have as many special items as they can to show that. If they're still playing from back then, then they deserve their unique bonuses.....
