    Exclamation Instance/Capital client lag

I took a good look through the the Tech support forums and I don't think I've seen a thread relating to this particular problem, so I figured I'd bring it up.

I've been having issues with small, 5 second lockups in dungeons and the occasional trip through Gridania, that feels like its related to DX11?

Here's my specs from Speccy. The Issue occurs even when set to the lowest settings, and I've gone in and tweaked my GPU's settings, even updating the drivers have given me no differed results. This wasn't an issue previously when playing on DirectX 9, and only seemed to appear when DirectX 11 was introduced. Any solutions?

    Ready to be BBQed?

Here is what I found out if your ISP got a laggy node/throttling FFXIV as P2P etc.

I enable the VPN and it felt like a new game in dungeons.

This is definately not throttling, it happened on a cutscene in Alex 1. But I will try it to see if there's any changes.

Okay heres another followup on this matter. I have gone behind a VPN and it made no difference. I have also done the following.

Reinstalled DX11, Restarted 3 times, reinstalled XIV, Turned the graphics down to minimal, Run in lower resolutions and last but not least, run the diagnostics on my PC to see if its a hardware issue. All have proven no results different from what I am dealing with now.

The only remaining options I have now is reinstalling windows and buying a new PC. Both of those are out of the question at the moment. Can I please get some feedback from a support GM? Or something? I have no clue what I have left to do outside of just not running in DX11 at all.

    Update #4

Now that I am officially forsaking DX11, running in DX9 has proved my point. If anything, the game performs like it should, with no lockups or lagging problems. I've no clue what to say anymore about all this. I want to say SE should get on their game but honestly I've not a clue if anyone else shares this problem, and if I should just upgrade my GPU to a 390x as I can only assume the R9 290x is inadequate for the game.

    Lightbulb Update #5

Seems my problem has been corrected by two possible means.

Means #1, I reinstalled XIV from scratch, as in I wiped its location clean of traces, and redownloaded the game. [That should not be a solution SE, you might want to look into that.]

    Means #2

Perhaps the disabling of OpenGL Triple Buffer fixed it? As well as adjusting the Tessellation to AMD Optimized as shown there. Perhaps it was a change in a hotfix that broke AMD's Tessellation to fix the nVidia problems?

I'm not going to consider the problem solved quite yet as I want to make sure its not just an isolated incident, but, I would not be too hurt if the GM's decided to move this thread anyways. I hope this at least provides some meaningful information to other players who have viewed this, and likely brought light to the fact it may not be throttling that is slowing your game down.

    Update #6

Right back to square one. This time during the DRK 30 Quest. I seemed to have alleviated it at least.

    Update #7

So now the game is unplayable in certain regions, for example I now get 3 fps in Gold Saucer, but I come to The Goblet and I get 60.

This only happened after this patch was released this morning. Honestly I've no clue what to do now. I'm exhausted of ideas and have tried everything, only to see things get worse as patches come out. I expect tomorrow at this point the game to be rendered unplayable outright in DX11.

I hate to be the only voice to bring this up, but Square Enix, you need to fix this. Before you start losing players over bad optimizations. For now I am turning off DX11 completely, as the erratic nature of it with this game is beyond unacceptable.
