    for a 24" screen. I'll pass.

3d tvs will never go mainstream until you lose the glasses. And even then, broadcast television will have to go 3d as well.

    1. theres already stations for special 3d programming and special events like hockey and football in 3d
    2. 3d tvs have sold extremely well and almost every high budget action type movie is utilizing 3d
    3. almost every new tv comes with 3d built in. So its already mainstream. (ex. certain companies don't sell normal tvs anymore)

This^^ Plus the glasses technology allows for more freedom in the tech and creativity! Few companies are alrdy working with holographics in 3-d space and have some prototypes, as well as sony releasing tv's this fall that makes it so you can play splitscreen on games without seeing the other persons screen and using the full screen yourself. Also just because a tv is 3D ready doesn't mean you HAVE to watch in 3D lol Can switch between the 2 at ANY time >.< Price has also gone waaay down on them as well, you can get 40 inches or above easily for under 1K, high end brands and models! 3D is here to stay whether people like it or not, it's the natural evolution of static imagery. Can't wait to see what 3D evolves into down the road!

Anyways that said sony announced a long time ago they wanted 3d support in and seeing how huge and popular it is (along with the fact that the pc version has awesome 3rd party support of it that works wonders), would imagine it would come to ps3 eventually... even if it takes a few years :P I've personally heard how FF 14 makes one of the best looking 3D games out there for those that have a powerful setup to handle it in full! Would be great to check it out down the road

In the UK we have some broadcasts in 3d, mainly sports and movies right now, most pubs are using 3d when they show sports, its going pretty much the same as when HD was first released, at first a few channels used it, then more did. The main reason most people dont have 3d TVs right now is because its still an expencive technology which will naturally sort itself out in time.
