Other MMORPGS with that implemented do not have the ability for one character to be more than one class. Is it frustrating when you buy the wrong thing? Sure. Should we have the refund option? Heck no, that can be so abused with the mechanics in this game.
While I think that people should just be careful and it's not needed, that particular issue would not crop up I think, otherwise you'd see it with glamour gear being passed around. Spiritbinding would be a simple block and it's already in the game. enter combat with it and it's locked until the end of time.

As it is, you can sell spirit bonded things or turn them in for GC seals. Any turn-in for a refund would have to deviate from the norm if it didn't accept things that were spirit bonded.

However, if it was programmed that way, I'd actually be on board with it. So if you really did just buy the wrong thing and never used it, you could return it and get the correct thing. As it stands, if the system gives you the wrong thing due to a slight mis-alignment of your mouse, you have to call a GM and jump through hoops for days.

Note that when you use gear for glamour, it does immediately bind it. Learned that the hard way.
