    What's the Future of Guild Tasks?

    I think all the changes to crafting is great, but it begs a different question... What's going to happen to the items need for Guild Tasks?

    For example: Dormouse Fur is a Guild Task item for the Tanners Guild. If Dormouse Pelts no longer will drop from a Dormouse, and Dormouse Fur will no longer be used in any recipes, how will we be able to make this item for Guild Tasks?

    So my question would be, is SE planning on making changes to the Guild Tasks? And if so, when? I've been collecting all the guild task item on a port mule and was planning on using it to port LS members around to the different cities and give them the items required for the Guild Tasks. I've probably spent quite a bit of gil on these items, as well as time gathering these items up. I would like a little advanced notice to what it planned for Guild Tasks. Dev response would be EXTREMELY appreciated!

    I second the request for information about the future. Ranks 1 and 10 are a strange cutoff and the execution of even those seems a little iffy.

    I love the idea of guild tasks, but I skip them more often than not because the time/effort input/output isn't really worth "maybe" shards or gil. If I'm doing work for the guild, I'd like to be guaranteed at least a few marks for my service. SP is a great incentive, but I can get that grinding alone and doing leves - that mark bonus is really the deal-maker for me.

    I find that many people have the same response to this, but only because the rewards are only really worth it if you hit up all the guilds everyday.

    Anyhow, I'd like to toss a suggestion out there to SE that would make the players that currently use the Guild Tasks pretty happy. Allow the old items to be used, as well as a new item. That way it will help flush out the old mats, and will also allow newer items to be used for those who do not have the old items.

    Forgive the bump, but I'm really hoping for some sort of answer on this one. Nothing has really been said about the Guild Tasks except for awhile back there was talk about creating ones higher than R10. As nice as that would be, I'm not really concerned about that at the moment. I'm slightly more concerned about my port mule's full inventory of soon to be out of date items ^.^;

    And I suppose I could just sit back and wait to see the patch notes to see if it's taken care of, but curiosity is killing this miqo'te lol.

    If guild tasks are kept in the game as they are now I'm sure the items requested will be changed, since many of thoose items requested in the current tasks won't be avaliable anymore which would make it incredibly frustrating and confusing for new players trying to do tasks for some quick starter exp and gil.

    I'd safely go ahead and craft up/vendor all your mules items, I'm working to do so myself as we speak lol.

    I think I'll at least wait til after 1.19 to start to vendor it all. Just in case they decide to do something different. I'm sure they will change the Guild Task items, it's just a matter of how they go about changing it over.
