Little bit of advice needed

I\\'ve just resubbed after a long break. My WHM is 50, had finished main story where you defeat the mech guys in the 10 man raid. I remember end game for me then was dungeon grind for gear then into coil.

So after getting myself all set up again, I\\'ve been given a slew of quests to open up hard mode dungeons? Do I need to do all these to progess into Heavensward?

I just want to get into the new areas asap, but does this involve lots of old dungeon/raid running?

I\\'ve been researching, but I\\'ve noticed there is conflicting advice depending on what website you view.

Just stick with your MSQ. It will lead you to a few dungeons and primal fights. That's the quickest way to Heavensward.

MSQ is the only thing you need to do -- the flame icons. You may want to do the random dungeons at some point for roulette, but I'm not actually sure if all of them are needed or only a couple.

Just follow the main story (lots of story) and do the trials/dungeons that it sends you to. The rest of the HM dungeons are optional and are not needed to get into Heavensward content.

For the record, even if you just stick to main quest it's still a long ass road to HW, since they stupidly decide to gate everything behind asinine amounts of quests in this game.

If you want to be able to do your roulettes for law Tomes, I'd suggest opening all the HM dungeons.

Kytestones - I went to all the npc's outside the dungeons and then was given another quest to complete the actual dungeon, which I then dropped. Is that enough for it to be opened?

You have to complete it once before its unlocked in the roulette.
