The game is anti co-op please make it so we can play with each other.

I got married to one of my friends while playing FFXIV, as many probably do. I also play the game all the time with this 1 friend, I do have a FC and it's fun and all, but the main part here is my friend.

For the story missions "This must be taken alone as a DOW/M"
For Duty Finder "Requirements: Being Alone."
(and lets be fair, leve quests do offer semi-co-op functionality, but lets be more honest here, it doesn't scale well even with 2 players, +4 levels with a healer/tank combo is a joke)


But my problem is that a lot of the content doesn't allow for players, be it married people or friends, to play with each other. so instead of playing the game together it's a (look at next comment for my glorious humor :P )


My main problem here is that the game rewards players really well for doing duty finder, and it also has a really good story, but you can't do either of these with somebody.

To be honest, I am a bit confused here. o.O I always go with my friends together into any duty finder dungeons and raids. The only ones that are solo is the low lvl and trial roulette. o.o

I wonder if they are talking about those main story quest duties that pop up from time to time, you can't be in a party for those.

I already posted something like this, and yes not being able to do low level roulette and trials does suck indeed. Also if you want to level with a friend, you have to pick a class suited to that area untill around level 15, for eg ur friend picks an Archer, you gotta pick either lancer or Conjuror.

yes you can but the other person needs it unlocked.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough, I meant duty roulette, as duty finder. and as for the story missions theres plenty of them where you get thrown into a situation which "must be undertaken alone as a DoM/DoW"

Thats what I was talking about.

The rewards for just doing a duty finder don't compare to doing them on roulette, and the rewards for doing it on roulette shouldn't be ignored because they're so good, so what happens is that forces me to play alone as opposed to playing with someone else, or any friends at all. I don't like how I have to deal with people I don't know when I'm playing a game with a friend.

This too, I started as CNJ, my friend started as an ACN. We werent able to play with each other until about level 15. This does happen in other games but usually it's at a lower level or you can meet up if you are determined enough. Here you can't possibly go to another city-state that low.

I panicked-ran from Gridania to Ul'dah around that level.
It was very, very hard but I did it.

Thats not very helpful, especially if 2 new players as friends just got started in the game. it takes a few days just to figure out the map system. the amount of things to learn is quite overwhelming at the beginning, and they will feel pretty bugger'd when they find out they in different areas with the intention of leveling together.
