I love how some of u saying u play both class equally good but yet I bet most of u barely play monk please stop with the non sense if u think dragoons are better play dragoon then dont come on the forums thinking your opinions are facts because their not
We won't know which of the three melee classes will be best until a couple of weeks into Alex Savage, depending on how many things changes from Alex Normal.
In fights like A2 we will completely cream both NIN and DRG in DPS because Elixer Field exists. It's all situational.

AoD use is weak and gimmicky
DK is still good but with MNK the only blunt user and DRK delirium not as needed as it use to be.
Mantra is the only saving grace which isn't even needed after progression.
I save alot if tanks and party who was about to die with mantra so healers could emergency heal an whole party especially in A3 when the boss cascade
Claiming 1IP is useful is borderline retarded. There is not a single buff worth removing that can be removed. Hardly anyone plays PvP and even there it sucks hard, monk pvp in general is awful because positionals and server delay exist.
Arm of the destroyer isn't worth mentioning either. The form limitation makes it bad. The TP cost is bad. The damage is bad. The presence of a PLD/BRD/MCH makes it worthless. The fact that maybe 3 skills in the game are worth silencing makes it complete garbage.
Mantra is alright but as utility it's underwhelming. The cooldown is very long for what this skill does and the range is so short that it's only good when mechanics actually allow you to stack, which is honestly just sad.
Dragon kick is our saving grace right now because DRKs are bad compared to PLD/WAR (dont even argue that, anyone wanting serious progression isn't going to deal with a subpar MT/OT). Blunt debuff is still useless because nobody runs double Monk.
Ill defend Monks in terms of damage output but don't pretend they have utility.
