basically yarn synths no longer yield 12, but yield 1 instead.

Which, for the same synth. You go from 12 thread from 2 Diremite webs, to 1 thread from the same 2 webs. This might have changed in the last few months and could be subject to more change, but that's a bit steep. particularly as 1 bolt of undyed velveteen cloth requires 1 dew thread.

same as with lumber, before this patch, you get 4 lumber for 1 log now you get a 3 lumber with 3 logs

Same for alchemist and glue and pretty much everything, its going to make crafting a massive massive time sink.

It could become a timesink for some. For others it'll actually stimulate the economy.

With the ability to stack leves without worrying about resets every 36 hours effectively "erasing" any unclaimed leves you'll be able to do 99 leves back to back. This will be great for casual crafters.

Making the yields on a lower level product will motivate sales to higher level people who need that item to grind it into higher level recipes as it will no longer be financially feasible to grind SP'less synths for mats only.

Now, it's feasible to grind certain synths even though you don't get SP from them. Afterward, it's not going to be as valuable due to the crystal costs. Cotton Yarns should net a higher price in the wards after the patch. Depending on who you are that may or may not be a good thing. Regardless, it motivates people to spend the gil they've been sitting on rather than avoid it and stimulates the economy.

With materia thrown into the mix the economic system of XIV should start to pick up. Now if they'd only add incentives to sell in the other cities. I'd like to see further tax reductions if you sell an item in a city that's the home of the guild that synths/gathers that item. Alternatively, or in conjunction, they could add sales slots for items that pertain to that particular guild/city.

    For example:
    • 7% tax for selling an Iron Spatha in the Crystalier's Row in Ul'dah.
    • 5% tax for selling an Iron Spatha in the Battlecraft Row in Ul'dah.
    • 2% tax for selling an Iron Spatha in the Crystalier's Ward in Limsa Lominsa.
    • No tax for selling an Iron Spatha in the Battlecraft Ward in Limsa Lominsa.
    • No tax for Bazaar items regardless of location.
    • You can sell up to 10 Iron Spatha's per retainer at one time in Ul'dah.
    • You can sell up to 20 Iron Spatha's per retainer at one time in Limsa Lominsa.

It makes sense for local governments to offer economic incentives for their local area businesses. This suggestion only applies if they choose to keep the city-state wards decentralized. If they decide to go to a universal PC item sales counter then this doesn't really apply.

What's gonna bite weavers in the keister is that now we have to start stockpiling lightning shards, all the new base yarn and cloth recipes switched from earth/lightning crystals.

"You don't stop playing when you get old, you get old when you stop playing!"

Punctuation is your friend. It deliniates the difference between "Let's eat, Grandma!" and "Let's eat Grandma!"
