Your positionals only really matter on the adds. And those positionals are explained on your move descriptions (your two new pos. moves). Other than that, where you position yourself is entirely based on where you are in the fight (mechanics determine where you need to be).
In phase 1: Where you are doesn't really matter too much. DPS adds down quickly. Use your BoD and your positionals to get your dps high. Then DPS the carapace down (1 shot it).
In Phase 2: Your position is dependent on the debuff you get. Green debuff means attack blue add, blue means attack green add. Other than dodging tornadoes, the only positions you need to keep note of are for wheeling thrust and fang/claw.
In phase 3: Your position depends on weather. Yellowish weather means gather in the center. Purple weather means near the edge. Bluish has no major positional requirement.
As a DRG, you're up close and personal with the adds, either at their flank or behind them. Heavy Thrust I think had a higher potency at the flank, and chaos thrust from behind. Not following those drops your dps a little. If your not using one of those skills, then you'd most likely position yourself behind the add you're attacking until you move for your positionals.

i mean, the adds, especially in phase 3, use those aoe skills around them, and sometimes it makes me unable to get close to them, is there anything taht i can do with that?
There is no particulary reason as to why you shouldn't be able to get close to the adds as a dragoon. The adds itself have a couple aoe abilities they use, which may interupt you attacking it for a couple seconds, but other then that i don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to.
As a DPS your mostly going to have to play in a dangerous position, in order to keep dpsing and dodging, this also improves your overal skill and knowledge of the actual fight!

Not really other than to try to time your abilities as best you can (which takes practice to determine exactly when the adds pop or start throwing aoe's etc.) All you can really do is dodge and hope you can get back to the mob in time before BoD wears off.
Here's hoping BoD gets adjusted to compensate for this.
Why does BoD need to get adjusted to compensate for this? It has a very long timer after your first use and having extended it with your first 4th combo. In my opinion BoD works as intended and is far more forgiving then Greased Lightning stacks. If your gonne cut the timer by using geirskogul as often as possible, there is ofcourse possiblities that you are gonne lose your buff, this all comes with experience. Not really other than to try to time your abilities as best you can (which takes alot of monotonous practice to determine exactly when the adds pop or start throwing aoe's etc.) All you can really do is dodge and hope you can get back to the mob in time before BoD wears off.
Here's hoping BoD gets adjusted to compensate for this.
