Date Acquired on duty finder gear.

It would be really great if we could have the date acquired stamped on dungeon/raid gear, just like how crafted gear has the name of the crafter. Gear has always been something that players work hard for and it stinks when you were one of the people who beat something when it first came out and have the gear... then it is made easier and more people get the gear - suddenly your items and drops aren't quite so cool. If you had that time stamped on the gear, then even though everyone is wearing the same thing you could still feel proud of your accomplishment for clearing it first. I'm not someone who clears things fast at all, but I do think this is something that would make the game a lot better for me... because I would *want* to be that person who got the gear when it first came out.

The time is stamped on your achievements.

also, inb4 you're enjoying the game wrong, being proud of digital accomplishments makes you a bad human being with no life yadayada

I'm confused. Wouldn't it be completely irrelevant because the people it would be aimed at would always be in the current best gear anyways while the Filthy Casual EZ Mode Scum™ would be in the now nerfed and outdated content gear?

If you're doing anything worth boasting about your gear will always be better than theirs anyways.

v0v Seeing other people having dreadwyrm/high allagan stuff doesn't make me think my own set of it is less cool. I know what I went through to get it, and don't really care what other people think. Hell I think my old i90 allagan stuff is the coolest of the lot! Yea it's piss easy to get now, but for me the pieces I have remind me of the wild west of xiv raiding when I was terrible at the game and no one knew what they were doing. Good times.

It'd be more data to add to items. (So, probably another thing SE could add to the pile of excuses for inventory space shortcomings)

Never understood the importance of server firsts.

Oh yeah, probably because they don't hold any significance. Like, at all.

Only thing it'd do is show off your e-peen or discriminate against people with recent clears.

Takes data and we know how SE is with things taking data.

And quite honestly it's not needed. If you're concerned about people wanting to see if you beat ___ raid it is shown in your achievements in lodestone, assuming it's not set in private

It would be nice, but... the only way to prove the date would be to wear the actual gear piece. If you link a crafted item, you don't get the name of the crafter, just the base item. If you glamour a crafted item, you don't get any info about the appearance other than the name (switching between actual gear piece and glamour gear piece in the tooltip window). So... If you see someone else having glamoured the high allagan coat of healing... How would you even know if they got it six months or two days ago?

it seems innocent but i've seen this implemented in other games WoW did it for a short time, there was bedlam as the aftermath, you had long time players discriminating against newer players based on the date stamp of their gear, you had groups who would only invite after checking the time/date someone obtained their gear because the best gear did not require a great deal of effort to obtain after an expansion hit and the elitists wanted a way to find their own kind easily. Shouts like this were common "insert raid here, looking for members, /tell for ilvl/date check geared before "date" only." It's a good way to weed out people who purchased runs/loot from clear groups since some groups would not offer services before a period of time had passed. This is a terrible idea the person requesting it is a terrible person and should be shunned from the community and quarantined. Those agreeing with him should also be quarantined and watched like diseased rats. In a perfect world society would do that, but this if ffxiv and people like this slip under the radar until they speak up publicly for things like this (sarcasm is fun). Seriously though this kind of feature has been implemented and abused in many mmo's in many cases removed soon after the abuse was noticed by developers except in WoW where it was not removed until subs declined among new players angered by it. Also to the poster immediately above me the time/date stamp did not proc until the item became soulbound so as soon as they killed their first mob wearing it a crafted piece would be stamped. I say to any dev who may accidentally see this, learn from the mistakes and lessons other mmo groups have made and learned from, this like many ideas is a bad idea it cost those companies a lot of money to implement, remove, and recover from, there is no way to add something like this in any positive manner as discrimination is at it's core.
