Thoughts on level 60 scholar ability?

I have not had a chance to try dissipation yet. It looks like a nice "oh crap" button for us if we're out of aether stacks. I was also thinking, I could use it at the end of a giant pull to get my stacks back to full then resummon pet with a swiftcast on the next pull.

For those scholars who have been running 60 content, what are your thoughts?

Unless there's something I'm missing, it's terrible and by far the worst SCH ability in HW. You can't resummon the pet while under dissipation.

Having fairy out is kind of important... use it when you're confident the other healer can pick up the slack, while you wait for the 30 sec cooldown.

So far the only use is to get 9 stacks of AF quickly for hunt marks.

It's bad.

1) The heal potency doesn't work on aetherflow heals because they count as "abilities" instead of spells.
2) 20% is less than the amount of healing that Eos/Selene add
3) The aetherflow stacks might help save you from a wipe - but you should never touch this ability in a decent group.
4) After 30s of losing a chunk of your healing potency you have to spend 1800 mana +/- 6 s or a swiftcast CD to get her back - but given that you've only used this ability because everything's gone to shit, the chances you have a swiftcast up are low.

The only potential uses are:
1) DPS energy drain x 9 opener (without any accuracy gear...)
2) Semi-crappy oh-shit button that's going to screw you in the long run but might prolong a wipe for 30s.

Personally I keep it on my bar over by limit break to make sure I don't press it unless I absolutely mean to. I've used it like.... twice to burn the boss in the last 5% when I knew we wouldn't need any heals.

It's terrible.

As ckc22 pointed out, you're sacrificing a lot for very little gain. Usually it will work against you overall.

Imagine if some DPS job was given an ability that said "reduces your damage potency by 10%, but gives you a 15% chance to survive one attack that would otherwise kill you, lasts 30 seconds, cannot be disabled, costs 300 tp once expired". They would never ever use it. About the same thing.

It's straight up bs by design. It will be either completely reworked, or drastically improved.

Best used at near the end of a pack/boss defeat. Also useful for DPS checks and additional stack for bane, since chances are you don't need the fairy to keep the party up if you set up Dots for it.
