Why is it that Ley lines doesn't change your characters Spell speed stats, so that you know for a fact that it's working?

We don't ask such questions around here.

With the change that Spell Speed directly boosts DoT damage, most skills which increase speed have been changed to directly affect your GCD rather than the stat. You can tell it's working by comparing the tooltip for a spell with and without the speed boost; the cast and recast times will display the difference.

That's the thing. I tried that, but there was no differences. With the change that Spell Speed directly boosts DoT damage, most skills which increase speed have been changed to directly affect your GCD rather than the stat. You probably kept your mouse over the ability before and after using Leylines when looking for the difference, when you have to move your mouse off and on to see the tooltip difference. Leylines very clearly shaves off 15% cast/recast.

Oh I see it now I was looking at the action & trait window, because 90% of my attacks are macro icons. Thank you :P
Since I just posted this in another thread…

It has about the same effect as Determination on dots. You're welcome.

because ley lines isn't spell speed, it is attack speed. If ley lines was spell speed then it would scale with our own spell speed like selene used to do. It is it/'s own stat that happens to affect the gcd... I question if it affects dots at all - i havent actually paid mind to it since i rarely ley lines then dot.... I'll have to try it and see haha.
