    I've done 3 fresh installs of ffxiv in the past 3 days. Each one completely patched in about an hour, patched from scratch. I don't see a real problem with it.

    Maybe because it takes longer because everyone is trying to download the patch at once like the moment after maintenance is over and the patch is released.
