Hunting - Am I Doing It Right?

He folks! I'm back with another question, as always! Now I was never big into Hunts pre-HW, so please bear with me!

So I'm about to be level 58, still 57 at the time of this post. While playing HW I've unlocked the 1st and 2nd level hunts in Ishgard. I've been trying my best to always grab a stack of bills from each level from the Hunt Board and clear them daily. Now of course, in every area I see people /sh for specific hunt monsters, and when I inevitably see them in the course of my adventuring, I try to give a /sh for "<t> <pos>" just to help out. My question is: are these hunts people are always /sh-ing for special hunts that anyone can join in on and get seals/exp, or do I have to have a specific hunt bill for them? Again, I'm only on the 2nd level hunts of which I ASSUME there are more.

Just curious, and as always I appreciate any and all help!

PS: is there anything specific I'm supposed to be saving these seals for? So far I just see some minions and barding and wasn't sure if more items would be made available or not!

I'm also curious as to why sometimes I can accept two stacks of Hunt Bills a day, and some days I can only accept one stack.

The B-ranks (named mobs with a "passive" blue icon) don't give rewards for killing them, unless you have them as your weekly hunt mark. Calling them out is always good practice, because even if you don't personally need it, someone else might. Do everyone a favor though, and include the rank of what you're calling so people know it is or isn't a mark they get seals for--A-ranks are worth more than the 1/2 star bills combined, so calling an A-rank is going to draw a crowd quick.

Also, yes, in a quick breakdown, there are three tiers of hunts:
1, 2, 3 star bills (daily). These give overworld mobs you need to kill, and you can start doing these at 53, 56, and 59 (respectively). 1 star is worth 15 seals, 2 star is 20 seals, and 3 star is 75 seals.
Elite bill (weekly). This assigns you one of the B-ranks that can spawn in Heavensward areas, and these are worth 100 Centurio seals. B ranked mobs have unique names, and a blue icon next to their name--these are the easiest to find because they're always non-aggressive (which is less common in Heavenward areas).
Open world kills (A/S ranks). These mobs spawn randomly in the Heavenward areas (as in they don't have a specific area they appear in), and S-ranks usually have special conditions that need to be met before they can appear. These give the most reward for the least effort if you have a hunting LS or know when to look for them. A and S ranks have unique names and a red icon next to their name, because they're aggressive and will attack anyone who comes near them. People who don't know this (or are trolling) can pull a hunt mob this way, and the phenomenon is called a "facepull" because someone walked right into the mark, triggering an avalanche of waiters to unload on the mark instead of waiting for anybody else who was on the way.

There are 3 hunting logs per day. at level 53 (1), level 56 (2), level 3 (59 i think) and there are the weekly hunts unlocked at level 60. Don't count me on these numbers might be off by 1 lol, anyways you can join hunts for A and S ranks at any time, however only at level 60 they rewarding the full amount of law tome stones. If you're not level 60 you still receive full amount of seals and poetics.

You want to save your centurio seals for level 60. That same npc you see the minions at, will sell you 3 items to upgrade your ilvl 170 armor to lvl 180 at level 60!

Hunting logs reset everyday at 8 am pst, if you picked up a stack lets say at 7:30am that are the logs from the day prior. So at 8 am you will be able to pick up another stack.

I also see people shout for "invite" when certain monsters are called. Do you have to be in a party to get credit for certain hunts, kind of like the old Odin FATE?

you don't have to be in a group, however on our server A and S ranks die within 10 maybe 20 seconds. You won't get full credit if you were late or not getting enough dmg in before it dies. It's always suggested to join one of the party finder or shout groups when trying to get some seals. Most of these groups are doing more than one A or S rank, even older ones and if you're lucky you get a streak of 6 - 9 A ranks a day etc..

Finally unlocked my weekly hunts last night, and found my first B-Rank thanks to someone randomly shouting. I've been shouting out locations as well every time I come across one, and thanks to seeing how helpful it was to me last night, I'll continue to do it! Personally, I've really enjoyed the hunts so far. Now if I could just find a Hunt LS that wasn't full, I'd be in great shape!

Most servers have multiple hunt LSes going, so just shout for an invite in Idyllshire or whenever you show up for an A rank pop. Someone somewhere will have an opening for you, or at least keep you in mind if you start showing up regularly to hunts.
