I feel like I'm missing something... How do you remove skills from vertical hotbars? I am using the cross bar, but I am trying to use the vertical hotbars to see cds and stuff. Can't drag skills off, or even move them to other slot.

I don't use cross-hotbars but it sounds like you have the hotbars locked.
You probably have the lock activated. You should be able to disable it to allow you to move the skills around again. It should be that little padlock icon on your hotbar.
It's hotbar 7/8, no lock icons for some reason.
I did find a way around it... /hotbar remove X Y [X=Hotbar #] [Y=Slot #]
Still, kind of annoying that I can't just drag and drop stuff.
Oh, then you'll have to manually make hotbar 1 visible. The padlock icon should be at the very right of it. The lock is separate between the regular hotbars and cross hotbars.
This is a little off-topic, but I figured asking it here was better than creating a whole new thread.
I play on the PS4 with a controller and use the cross-bar. I also have a keyboard I use for chat. Is there a way that I can use both at the same time? Always thought it'd be nice to have my pet commands or non-combat things like mounts or gestures on a separate bar that I can just hit a key on the keyboard without having to go through the trouble of filling up and finding it in my cross-bars.

Yup. Disable the type to message talk option and you can use keybinds as well - I don't use them for combat stuff but do use them to open various windows and such be it crafting log, char, currency, fc, linkshell etc...
