When an MMO expansion comes out, and someone buys that expansion, the general hope is to be able to play the expansion and not content that has been irrelevant for over a year.

MMOs are social games; part of the fun is to experience things with people. You lose something when you're constantly playing catch up. It's like finally getting around to watching a movie years after it was popular. No one cares that you just saw Catch Me If You Can for the first time. No one wants to talk about it. You missed the boat.

You don't buy The Burning Crusade to farm Scholomance for a month.

None of that content is irrelevant and nothing is stopping them from farming Law Tomes and doing Alexander.
The only thing that's irrelevant at the moment is Coil and Crystal Tower. High Level dungeons are still being run daily for exp and relic upgrades.

Basically what I'm getting is that they did nothing besides MSQ and lvl to 60. Now its bitting them in the ass since they now have to go back do GC quests to rank up for hunts, unlock all the side quest dungeons/ run them all to unlock roulettes ect.

You can't just do all MSQ to get to 60. I blame NThan.

The problem is that there is no incentive to do those things until you are 60 and HAVE to.

You don't HAVE to. Nothing in the daily roulette is required to progress at endgame (at this point in time at least). The only thing that you get is a measly amount of Law tomestones that you can easily get from the Expert roulette or the duties associated with it.

OP is a WHM....find a friend on ANY lvl 60 job and you can duo all of these dungeons in half a day. Don't expect any sympathy from the vets though. Anyone who has done a relic had to do 20 or so runs of Darkhold or Aurum Vale to get a Zodiac drop. Talk about absolutely no reward....

i was tempted to see how much exp i would recieve if i fate grinded to level 50 while keeping all side quests open, then did the MSQ.

then i realized i'm a lazy prat that would never actually do it.

meanwhile i have a perfectly good pld sitting at level 50 just before CM and haven't used her in months.

You think that's bad? Try being a new tank. I seriously almost cried because of the "elite" players wanting speed runs through those fifteen dungeons.

Back in the day, you could do a roulette without unlocking all of the dungeons connected to it. However, people would purposely not unlock certain dungeons (WP) so that they never got it. So the devs implemented the lockout. That way pops weren't horrible for dungeons that weren't favored by the tome farmers.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't unlock Cuttercry yet I still can enter Low Roulette :/ (I unlock it when I do Animus Relic)

Yeah sorry I'm a derp sometimes. They recently raised the lockout on low. However it had a lockout for quite some time pre 3.0.

edit: however, I thought you needed to unlock cutters to progress the main story? IDK my memory of 2.x story is basically gone.

I didnt unlock the lvl 50 roulette because i don't want to waste tons of hours in dungeons that aren't current, so it sits locked for me, forever.

I got all the law by running fractal continuum a million times.

In less than a week you can have full law, it's not that hard.

Nope I didn't touch Cuttercry until I'm in Animus phase yet I cleared 2.55 MSQ.

EDIT: Also people who party with me confused with me when there's achievement of me clear Cuttercry's map and I'm 50 lol.
