I don't understand. If you think having to do dungeons to unlock a dungeon roulette is "harsh" instead of "fun", why play a MMO? Honest question.

No it's not that at all. It is harsh when people need story stuff done mainly, and ANYTHING they appear in that gives that god aweful "new player" message that often makes people cringe because heaven forbid we explain anything, and think "oh god I have to carry someone". You have to start somewhere.

Now in the OP's case, it can feel overwhelming and discouraging to be so far behind because there are those that have unfair expectations of other players. This community lacks one glaring thing: Consideration. I am looking at all ends, while you're all judging her and looking at one thing.

The dungeons you need for the Hard Roulette are a lot of fun and offer many interesting mechanics. Do them, you won't regret it, I promise!

you probably can do them all in a week or so. old players spent 2 years doing them when it was more difficult.

Depends on how hard you want to grind for law tomes tbh. It takes roughly 3300 tomes (give or take) to get full law gear. If you were to just do the low level roulette, expert, and trial roulette you'd have the tomes you need in about 12 days if you only do the roulettes and no extra runs of the 60 dungeons at all. You don't even need to do the high level roulette, I'd even argue that it would be more efficient to just spend that time doing the 60 dungeons several times to farm the law tomes you need and unlock the high level dungeons if/when you feel like it.

Edit: Also OP I noticed that your class is Conjurer, I believe I can safely assume you're a healer main. If that is the case, camp the low level trial roulette every chance you get, if the adventurer in need is Healer, you get 3k seals from one dungeon run. As a tank, I'd run the low level roulette when I saw the adventurer in need was tank, gave me 3k seals a run. I about 30k+ in about 3 days and power leveled my GC rank to get to the point I needed to do the mandatory DD and AV runs.

I have been playing since 2.0 Open Beta, granted with many breaks spanning over several months, I got to 50 about 4 months ago, and I still don't have HM roulette unlocked. And I am not really hurting. :X

As for hunts, what did you do wit ALL the green and pink items? Did you throw them away? O.o I am currently sitting on 50k GC seals with absolutely nothing to do with them, and that pretty much without trying to get them, dungeons give seals, fates give seals, and of course expert delivery gives seals. They are flooding you with seals on every single step...

you don't really have to hunt either. i170 is good enough to beat Alex F4 and Alex gears will replace i180 Law gears anyway. plus, AF2 is coming soon. probably i200.

Why exactly do they do this? They make entire sets of gear irrelevant in only 2 weeks. When I look at item sets for level 50 there are like 10 sets of gear that are just entirely pointless because you can just immediately go to higher ilvl gear.
They should implement proper gear progression so that you need to go from 170/180 to 190 to 200.

Also I also just hit level 60 and have zero of the dungeons required for hard roulette. I started running around unlocking them only to realize I have to actually do every single one before being able to queue for it. I don't think it is really worth the time investment right now so I'll just get tomes of law with expert roulette and spamming lvl 60 dungeons instead.

Does anyone know if level 50 dungeons are soloable at level 60 with sync off?

They do that to give the gear at least SOME lifespan.
Back in the day of 2.0 you got ALL OF THEM on release.
So the only reason to have like i70 gear was to clear a dungeon that gave i90.

Don't expect i200. I expect savage alex to be i200, and I doubt AF2 will be the same or higher. I'm guessing on i190, because I'm expecting them to get a upgrade quest line.
