how to get 150-250 clusters per ephemeral node. Money!

Only problem I'm feeling from this is that farming shards is still the same boring task as before. Culinary still uses lots of shards, and you occasionally need 2.0 ingots and thread for the new 3.0 crafts.

I need a couple hundred wind shards for basilisk whetstones, and probably a few thousand fire shards for leveling culinary. Strange that crystals and clusters are now so much faster to farm than shards.

Hope not. That'd be an incredibly stupid knee jerk reaction. Farming crystals etc has always been a boring, garbagey slog and seeing a big wad of crystals pop out of my first aetherial reduction was a pleasant surprise.

Doubt it. Its probably supposed to give like 3-5 clusters not 30-50. Thats way too many. We'll have to wait and see what the maintenance is for but i wont be suprised if its for this.
