I tried to speak with my inventory today and the response seemed to be stifling silence.

(But seriously, the devs didn't give a specific date, as far as I know. Just "later".)

Gear does pile up though..endlessly.

Most (if not all) current gear we have will probably never be converted into grade V materia.

Maybe those chivalric coats (ilv 160) can be converted into grade V materia, since they are the only kind of gear that can be melded with grade V materia at the moment.

How does anyone know? What do they talk about?

Punctuation and spelling are important I'm guessing you are making a question? Although the period says you are stating something. Conversation or conversion? Are they chatting or turning into something?
