depends on the roll and mechanics the best tank to do massive damage,grab adds and is most versatile is WAR. The best Main Tank that can consistently stand in front of a raid boss with the correct cooldown and aggro rotations is Paladin. DRK........ seems (thus far) not viable in a raid group unless that person can swap to one of the aforementioned

What exactly is versatile about a Warrior Off Tank? Paladin can Clemency, Stoneskin, Protect those who got raised, keep a STR debuff up, Cover on-demand, Divine Veil the entire raid (MT included), In addition to being a better *in case of emergency break glass* Tank if the MT dies.

Maybe most Warriors are lazy. Can they do all those things, or is it just damage?

Because dps is a major factor in this game The best MT is Dark Knight best off tank Warrior and Paladins don't really have a place in true farming runs endgame anymore because lack dps.

Warriors can pick up either individual or packs of adds and burn them down faster than a pld could, potentially freeing up dps to maintain primary target damage. They can increase the damage output of not only themselves but other tanks and ninjas in the party. And that str debuff you're so proud of? That's cute and all but warrior reduces *all* damage 10%.

You can't argue that's "just damage" no matter how you slice it. You can boil it down to "mostly damage advantages in every situation along with universal damage mitigation", but if you want to play that game then guess what? All those pld toys boil down to a one trick protection pony and pld will alway need other dps to help them burn add packs which can really hurt team performance.

Oh and either you're forcing your nin to be you slash debuff b****, dropping their dps, or your groups is *really* hurting in dps just because you feel you really need all those defensive buffs just to get a clear.

My 10% Strength debuff is Cute?
1: they stack.
2: You only ever got that ability after stealing it from bards because Square was in danger of drowning in a sea of warrior tears in 2.0
3: I don't care how much strength gear you're wearing, you aren't topping dps meters so YOU are not the one burning the adds down. (fairly certain that you wearing str gear is less group dps than you wearing vit gear with healers able to dps more often in the long run)
4: Ninjas can increase their own damage, though it is nice to have a warrior do it for them (this doesn't happen outside of the primary target however, as you won't keep that debuff up effectively on an aoe pack)

You say all I have with my toys is a one trick protection pony? That trick? It's called Tanking you toglodyte.

Personally I enjoy War and DRK over PLD. That said I love PLDs support abilities (I'm a support freak I enjoy keeping the party goinghence why healers and tanks are my primary classes) are amazing.

The best out of the three though, eh depends on the encounters tbh. Though for me I use War for all encounters, because War will always be my lover. (Though I may leave her for DRK ;-

No point in trying to talk sense into him, he's convinced himself that the best ot stacks vit and simply spams stoneskin when not maintaining a strength debuff, and has had to resort to flinging insults in a sad attempt of maintaining this delusion.
